Horizons Family Restaurant in Wells is exactly what you want in a cozy breakfast and brunch spot. It has that classic diner feel—friendly, welcoming, and focused on hearty, satisfying food. The menu offers all the typical diner staples, but the standout for me was the blueberry pancakes. Honestly, they were the best I’ve ever had—fluffy, loaded with fresh berries, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. The whole place has a warm, family-style atmosphere that makes you want to linger over your coffee. A true local gem for a comforting start to the day.

First time we tried Horizons. My fiance said his lobster Benny was the best he had ever head and that says a whole lot! He ate it right up! Our waitress was amazing she was quick and ontop of all her tables! I had the normal French toast and it was very good as well.

Food was good, coffee cake muffin best. Service great, as a solo traveler I always feel rushed by waitstaff to give up my table. Not here I felt as welcome and appreciated as a large family would have been. It’s a small dinning area so this was a pleasant surprise. Would and probably will eat here again.

Very nice place for breakfast. It is a bit small, so places are limited when you go during the morning rush. The food was very good and prepared perfectly. The waffle with blueberries did not come with fresh blueberries, which is what I was expecting since we were in the season. This is why I put only 4 stars. We will go again for sure.

The waitress (in a purple t-shirt on 10/4/25) was very rude and seemed put out and abrupt with us! First time here and our group will never be back! We had breakfast. No substitutions. My granddaughter only wanted French toast and bacon, but they couldn’t be bothered to offer us a better option. She needed to order the whole $15 meal!! Crazy!! We were never offered refills on coffee. Had to ask for it. I have no idea how they’re so busy. Maybe we were all first timers? Ugghh

Horizons is really just your average diner, nothing necessarily spectacular or above average with the food or service.
Every breakfast place it seems is already full by 9 and Horizons is no exception, so best to get there early unless you want a 30-60 minute wait!
I am gluten free as well, and the server/kitchen are not super knowledgeable right off the bat about the ingredients, however they were diligent to check with me about them to ensure I had a gluten free experience as best as possible!

We have been going here nearly every morning for the past week. Always great food. And Ashley has been our server most of the time. She’s great .

First time. Down-to-earth and home-y. Great food. Friendly people. Make sure to ask for REAL maple if you know and care about the difference.

We went in for a late breakfast. The service was friendly, fairly prompt, and the dining area was really clean. The guy serving coffee was really on his game – never had a cold cup. Food was pretty good – nothing outstanding, but I’ve got no complaints. My daughter downed her pancake pretty fast, so I know she was plenty happy.
If you are staying at any of the hotels within walking distance of this place, I’d definitely recommend going.
