Do NOT be fooled. This isn’t a gas station. It’s a decadent restaurant with some gas pumps out front. The food is so so so good every time. I got the steak tip gyro special today with fries and garlic aioli to dip the fries in. Everything is seasoned to perfection. I put my food down to take a picture and write this review because I had to tell the world. It’s also very fairly priced.

This place is worthy of a pilgrimage. They serve the greatest italian sub in New England and probably the world. 4 kinds of peppers, 3 kinds of meat, 2 kinds of dressing, pickles, the perfect bread …. wow. I first experienced the sandwich on a gas stop passing through this summer and went out of my way to return when I came back to Vermont. Honestly, I probably would have come back here just for the sandwich. It’s so good. Their smash burger is also delicious. Prices are excellent, service is friendly and prompt, and they have a great drink selection. Props to the guys in the kitchen, you’re doing the lord’s work.

Horizons Deli is a true hidden gem tucked inside a little gas station in St Johnsbury, Vermont. I grabbed one of their smash burgers—kept it simple with caramelized onions, American cheese, and their burger sauce—and it was excellent. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The fries were solid too, and only a buck extra, which makes the whole meal a steal at around $11.
There’s not much seating since it’s mostly a grab-and-go setup, but the service more than makes up for it. The staff (and owner) were super friendly and helpful, and my food came out fast.
If you’re passing through the area, do yourself a favor and stop in. It’s easily one of the best quick bites you’ll find on the road.

My husband & I found this spot from Google and decided to make it our lunch stop as we headed up to Quebec. The staff is extremely friendly, the burgers were some of the best we ever had & the fries were great too! Huge selection of drinks as well. Overall, would definitely recommend stopping in & enjoying a fresh meal!

This place is amazing!! It doesn’t matter what I get, it’s always delicious.
If you come in around lunch time, any day of the week the entire store is packed with people waiting to eat.
I have to say, the burgers and fries are better here than any restaurant around here.
