Before diving into the ice cream itself, there are a few things worth mentioning.
First, I loved that they only offer a limited selection of flavors at a time, displayed on the wall. It creates a fun, unique experience with every visit and encourages you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new, rather than sticking to your usual go-to flavors.
Second, the atmosphere while waiting in line was fantastic. The staff at the counter were friendly, efficient, and clearly passionate about what they do, which made the visit even more enjoyable.
Now, onto the ice cream…
Confident it would be great, I ordered the “Flight,” which includes four scoops. My picks were:
1. Watermelon Italian Ice
2. Key Lime Pie
3. Milk Chocolate M&M
4. Chocolate
For the record, since the staff assumed my brother and I were sharing, I can assure you we each completed our own flights.
The ice cream at Horatio’s is outstanding. Every single flavor was excellent, the texture, richness, and quality truly stood out. Honestly, if it hadn’t been that good, I wouldn’t have been able to finish all four scoops. But I had no problem finishing them here.
As for the price, $10 for four scoops feels more than fair considering the exceptional quality.
I’m not sure when I’ll find myself back in Custer, but when I do, I’ll definitely be stopping at Horatio’s again, ready to try four more flavors.
I got the cotton candy one and it did not taste like anything . Id say more vanilla but not even vanilla. Quite frustrating. 4 stars for the service and waffle cone
