YALL if you are gluten free you HAVE to try this place. I probably haven’t had fried chicken in a year and this hit the spot I could probably cry it’s so good. I got the 6 piece tenders and they gave me 7 also they are HUGE could definitely feed two people. They’re a little on the greasy side but not in a bad way. Also not too spicy but a good amount. I waited 30 minutes before writing this to make sure they were gf and didn’t bother my stomach. 10/10 would recommend. Don’t mind the bite out of one in the pictures (it did not come like that I just couldn’t wait). Also it is inside the mimosa grill restaurant so I was a little confused when picking it up.

This is inside of a Hotels restaurant.
We did not know this so finding it was pretty hard. When we got there we learned that you have to place your order online and then pick it up when it’s done.
My boyfriend got the piece chicken strips and the chicken sandwich. He didn’t finish either.
He loves chicken sandwiches… so that says something.
He said that there was absolutely no flavor other than the Cajun spice. I tried his chicken strips and I agree.
His hush puppies were craaazyyy dry and oily and the dip that came with it was still frozen.
My chicken bowl had absolutely no flavor. The chicken balls had barely any meat, they were mostly breading and it was super oily. The rice had no flavor, and the sauce that came with it didn’t help at all. To top it all off, the coleslaw was old. The lettuce was suuuper soggy.
I don’t recommend this place.

You order and pick up at Mimosa Grill. Chicken is great, sides are mid. The chicken was really great though.

Ordered chicken wings. Thought it will be smaller size wings, but they were huge and heavy. Well breaded but lacked the spice inside the chicken. It will take atleast 2-3 people to finish the order. Definitely worth the price for the food quantity provided. Could do better on seasoning and marinating the chicken.

We searched for the best chicken sandwiches in the greater Charlotte area. Then, we spent a Saturday driving to each location to try them all. Horace’s chicken sandwich was by far the winner. Outstanding sandwich.
Update: it seems like the original Horace’s is now under different ownership and the quality is not what it was. Sad.

Biggest issue is that they have terrible customer service. The Food is mediocre to bad, the menu is incorrect, and when I called to let them know they got my order wrong they were rude on the phone. For specifics, the sandwich has almost no flavor, calling it spicy is hyperbolic. I wouldn’t even describe it as mild. The “seasoned spicy potato wedges” are just fried potatoes without even salt. They provided the wrong side so I can’t comment on sides. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Horace’s Hot Fried Chicken is a unique little chicken spot in Uptown that serves an elevated Nashville hot chicken sandwich that was surprisingly good considering it is delivered on foot to my parking space outside the Wells Fargo building! Order online because there is no in-person store but it is delicious and worth the trip!

This “sandwich” came from a ghost kitchen in a hotel. Was not ready until well after the scheduled time. Cheap, tough piece of chicken, breading more than twice as thick as the chicken. Not spicy at all and a bun entirely too dense. Complete waste of money and inedible.

Don’t believe the hype. Some of chicken pieces were over cooked almost burnt. Taste was ok nothing stood out but heat no other seasoning i took burnt skin off the maple sauce gave it a twist. Have tasted better fried chicken in Chicago similar style hot with lower price.

I am disappointed in this for my first time. My chicken&hushpuppies were burnt… they tasted like the oil was old and like they were left in way too long. It wasn’t worth $20. Literally picked it up like 30 minutes ago.
