This place is a little hidden gem I cannot believe we’ve totally been by here a million times and only just recently tried it out. My husband and I went and really enjoyed the food, the friendly staff and the atmosphere. Cute little bar with, no offense, really impressively yummy food, I was pleasantly surprised! When I saw someone’s abuelita/lola wander out of the kitchen from the back I was like Ohhh that makes sense. You can taste the love in the food! I’m a super fan of bar food, a french fry connoisseur, but lets be honest, a lot of places just kind of call it in on the food. The fries were perfection. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, perfectly seasoned. Jalapeno poppers were molten (in a good way), crispy and delicious. The chicken breast sandwich, while that sounds like a mid-choice, do not judge me! It was really flavorful, the perfect ratio of meat to toppings and just delicious. My husband got the half rack of ribs after our server mentioned how big the portion for the full ribs was. He was NOT joking. I had a little bite it was yummy although pork’s not my thing my hubby said it was solid 8/10. We will be back for sure be ready with the fries.

Given that dive bars are not really a thing in nova, this is basically a nice dive bar. Older friendly crowd, I go there maybe once a month and even so the bartender knows my name and knows what I usually get. Very comfortable and I’m glad they’re there, I hope they stay open forever.

It’s a cute little place to enjoy. There is a bar side, but we choose to sit in the regular restaurant area. We ordered different different dishes and then shared them with each other. The food was good. The server was friendly and helpful.

This unassuming local grill and bar has great food! My sister and I each had a burger. It was giant! Nice quality beef. VERY GOOD! Crispy fries and I really liked their Edgar’s salad w/ blue cheese crumbles, walnuts & roast red peppers (I made it a side). And the lemon cake for dessert was delightful! Very light. The bartender was our server and was very personable and fun. We were in a different room than the bar and he still was able to give us excellent service. Our parents used to go there a few years back and always raved about it. You won’t be disappointed ☺️

Yet again.. amazing food, service, and atmosphere. The staff is great, chef is impeccable.. and we left fat and happy. I topped off my french dip with an IPA.. and got a limoncello cake to go. Also, had to show off the Reuben with a side salad. There were eight in my party, but the price was much lower than I anticipated.

I had an extremely disappointing experience here. One of the kitchen employees came out from the back, walked past my girlfriend, and deliberately nudged/touched her inappropriately before continuing to walk away.

When I addressed it, an older male bartender stepped in and immediately defended the other employee. He didn’t acknowledge what had just happened or show any concern for a guest being touched inappropriately by one of their own staff members. Instead, he backed the employee who crossed the line.

If this is how staff respond when one of their own employees touches a guest inappropriately, it raises serious concerns about the culture there. Based on this experience, it did not feel like a safe place for women, and management should take a serious look at how their staff behave and how situations like this are handled.

We have been customers of Hopsfrog for a while now, but I just wanted to leave a review about great the people who work there. The food always hits the spot, but tonight when we ordered delivery the Dasher left an item behind. The team went above and beyond to get us our food and let us know it was missing before our order even arrived. Amazing customer service! Thank you!

I went ro the bar area to place a to go order. Male bar tender has his back to me busy taking care of something else, which is fine. As I waited he turned around partially several times but never saw me. After a couple of minutes he walked to the hall area that connects to the kitchen or back room and BLEW HIS NOSE. HE DIDN’T WASH HIS HANDS and walks back to the bar area and proceeded to handle the glasses that people drink out of.
That is when I left, never to return.
I have eaten here before, the food is ok.

We were looking for a family-friendly pub with good pretzels, burgers, and beer. The menu seemed to fit the bill and we were really excited. Upon arriving, we found that the non-bar dining section was small and almost like a walled-off addition to the bar itself, but there were open tables and we were quickly seated.

Our server was attentive and friendly. We had no issues with his service, other than that he was very busy and it seemed like they needed another server on the floor. The menu was really expensive compared to similar places, but we hoped that that meant the food would be great. The beer selection was nothing special, so we did not order beers. We ordered our much anticipated pretzels with house-made beer cheese dip. The dip was very tasty, but it arrived cold. When we asked to have it heated, it was very runny and difficult to dip in. The Pretzels themselves were clearly not fresh made, as they had a ton of salt so firmly ingrained that we had to use a knife to scrape about 2/3 off. We soon discovered that the pretzels were microwaved, as the bread became tough and chewy halfway through.

That alone would not have negatively affected our rating, but sad to say, the pretzels were the best thing that we ate that night. We’d ordered $19 medium-rare burgers. They arrived raw. Not rare, which I’d be ok eating, but RAW. I am an amateur chef and would have been appalled to serve raw beef. We politely sent them back to be cooked. The manager brought them back out and said, ” Here’s your burgers,” and immediately walked away without an apology or waiting to see how they turned out.

I unfortunately did not think to take a picture of the raw burgers, but I am including pictures of the second round of nightmare burgers. They microwaved the same original burger patties to heck and back. Our burgers were just obliterated and they somehow only took a couple minutes to come back to us. They’d have required at least 15 minutes to be that well done on a grill. They were so cooked that the beef was bending up at the edges and rubbery. My husband’s bacon was unidentifiable (pictured). Yes, that really is a piece of bacon….

We caught the manager as he walked by and showed him our burgers. We said that they were very burnt when they were microwaved. He denied that they used a microwave, but the pictures speak for themselves. We were going to ask to switch to a different menu item, but he picked up the burgers and said he’d make them again and walked away before we could say anything at all. He was very sharp with us and never even asked if we wanted more burgers.

So we waited for a third round of burgers…. this time, fresh-made patties came out, but they were medium-well, not medium-rare (pictured). The manager again just set them down and said, “here’s your burgers,” and walked off. We asked our server’s opinion on the cook to be sure and he agreed that they were medium-well. He took them to have them made a 4th time, but we canceled the order and left hungry, frustrated, and feeling as though the place did not want our business. They even tried to charge us for the burgers that we never got to eat. We will never return and if you decide to eat here, we strongly recommend that you order something that can be safely cooked in a microwave.

How this place is in business escapes me. We were there on a Thursday 2 weeks ago. Schnitzel only 1 left, my friend and I fought for it and I let her have it. She said it it wasn’t very good. I really just wanted the potatoes anyways. The German potatoes were sub par, couldn’t spruce it up with vinegar or anything. One person had the pasta w chicken and she didn’t finish it. I can’t remember what our 4th person had. The booths were small for adults only 1 large round it was taken. People in the lounge area seemed happy watching the game and perhaps we should have eaten in there. The server was nice but she was slow and couldn’t read the table. The drinks from the bar were forgettable. So yes, I don’t quite get how the place is in business.
