I got the French onion burger, which came with caramelized onions, gruyere cheese, and garlic aioli. I ordered it medium, with fries and coleslaw.
I’m not kidding when I say everything I got was fantastic, especially the burger. It was cooked excellent, a little south of medium but just how I like it. (It looks more pink in the picture than it really was).
Overall, the burger really highlighted the beef, it wasn’t overly strong in any element, but was super flavorful from the toppings. The jus was thickened, more like a gravy, quite mild and delicious with the burger. The fries were great, nothing too spectacular. And the coleslaw was sweet and tangy.
I’d absolutely come back, this was a fantastic burger. The service and atmosphere were great too.
Great vibe, great food, great people. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.
Great fries choices!
It feels like they could make it a bit better tables and could improve that as a more comfortable experience and the outdoor area is ok…lacks the atmosphere… unclean old plants and dirty curtains and tables aren’t best for the vibe.
Service is great but they seem rushed and unhappy… maybe they need another runner on staff or something… parking sucks but that’s usually for an urban area.
We started with the fried crab cake balls, which were perfectly crisp on the outside and rich in flavor. HIGHLY recommend ordering those. The cinnamon syrup collins was a pleasant surprise—refreshing, balanced, and a bit unique. For the main course, the French Onion burger was simply amazing, packed with flavor and cooked exactly right.
Overall, Hops Burger Bar delivered on all fronts: atmosphere, service, and food. Definitely worth coming back to.
New place. Very busy burger bar with a small-but-sectioned layout and a tavern vibe inside. Swivel chairs were a fun touch and the staff seemed friendly. Menu’s decent with a lot of patty options, and it’s easy to build your own.
Bbq cheeseburger 6.8/10
Big, juicy 8oz patty cooked perfectly and tasted great for the price. Solid BBQ flavor and overall a really good burger.
Onion rings 7.2/10
Clearly homemade and fried just right. Super flaky batter, easy-to-bite onions, and the sauce was nicely balanced.
