Was passing through and wanted a quick bite and came across this place. The staff was friendly and could tell it’s a local joint with lots of character. On Burt Lake so had pretty views from the outdoors.

I’ve been going to Hoppies since I was a kid. The food and atmosphere is amazing. I had a hog back burger and it was amazing. My husband had a wet burrito and my kids had chicken strips. We went on a Thursday might in July and didn’t have to wait for a table. Our food came out quickly. It’s a block from Burt Lake and there’s a public dock. There’s a beer garden in the back with lake views and pretty flowers.

We were staying in the area and had traveled all day wanted something close for dinner and there wasn’t a lot of options. They were family friendly so we decided to go for dinner. Waitress was great and my Apple Bomb drink was good. However the prices are high for the quality of food. Fish and chips were not good fish had a weird taste and was soggy, the fries were overcooked. My boyfriend ordered the blue gill it was ok but the veggies with it were steamed and very bland. My daughter just ate her fries bc she ordered the fish and chips too. However my son’s wet burrito was apparently good bc he ate it all. But 110 for the food we received was absolutely absurd! I would drive further for better quality bc it was a waste.

Food was good. I had ordered a turkey club sandwich, but what came out was a turkey burger. I wasn’t too happy about that. I was expecting like shaved turkey like what is used for a turkey a sandwich. I wasn’t very fond of the taste but it was okay. The rest of our meal was pretty good.

Super Nachos were excellent, big portion which was just right for a big appetite. My wife’s small wet burrito was delicious she said and just the right amount. The dining area was very clean with cool decor. A mix of rustic up north and college sports. Our server was attentive and friendly.

What a fun experience! Our original plan was to take our boat from cheboygan, down the river to Mulket lake, then down Indian river to Burt lake then to Hoppies but the rain stopped us!! So, we drove!
