We went here for the first time on Valentines day. Me and my wife took my daughter out for brunch. It was very nice outing and the food was good. I had the steak and egg and my wife had the Big Breakfast. They have outdoor seating although minimal and the inside had a local diner feel. The waiter Greg was awesome and had a great deal of enthusiasm…lol.

Visiting the area, so we decided to have lunch at Hope Valley diner. It was fairly busy for lunch, but there were some tables that were open. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and toasted wheat with a side of potato salad. My husband had a Greek omelette with bacon and an English muffin. The chicken salad was on the sweet side. I think, adding the mayo to the bread was a little bit too much mayo, considering there was a lot in the chicken salad as well other than that it was good. The potato salad was Redskin potato with a little relish and very tasty. My husband was very satisfied with his Greek omelette. It had spinach, feta, and Greek olives inside wasn’t overwhelming very tasty and nice. The waitstaff was pleasant. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. There is a full bar that includes top shelf liquors and they have a huge specials board.

On October 8, we hosted an event at work with 180 people. We were absolutely thrilled with the catering experience. From to start to finish, the staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely kind. The food was not only beautifully presented but also incredibly flavorful-every dish was a hit with our guests!

We were in town for extended medical treatments at Duke. I was craving home cooked comfort and this place satisfied my comfort food and spirit.
On our second visit ( 2 weeks between ti.es) we were greeted as if we were daily guest . They even remembered the place we had sat the first time!
The food is as awesome as the people! Large portions of home cooked goodness.i high recommend the carrot souffle.

Good food and nice interior style/decor, but customer service is lacking. I’ve been here three times and each time, the servers are unhelpful, surly and seem like they do not want to be there. The rude customer service doesn’t match the food or expected warm, Southern hospitality. I would suggest getting your food to go if you want to try it, as dining in can put you in a bad mood.

Been wanting to give this diner a try and finally did today. We ordered homemade potato chips for app. For dinner, we had steak Diane with loaded baked potato, green beans and corn bread. Fried pork chops with Mashed potatoes, Mac and Cheese and corn bread and Belgium waffle with homestyle potatoes. Everything was delicious and we will be back.

Got hamburger steak and there was suppose to be gravy and onions on it. I received a dry burned piece of hamburger with a little bit of gravy and onion in a cup. I also got a Philly steak plate with no tomato and of course they put tomatoes on it. My son is allergic. For 31 dollars. I should have cooked my own meal. This food sucks. I wish I could post a picture of this mess.

B+ | Nice community diner that has much history and good calibre food. Outside seating wasn’t available , even due to the pandemic and we could tell chicken was going to be a mission for the staff with an hour left before closing. The steak and eggs was great as a breakfast and the hotcakes (pancakes) were more on the fluffy side. Objectively this is a cool staple for this community and gives a decent experience.

We ordered catered dinners to celebrate our Residents at the hospital. My turkey dinner was awful. The dressing was very bland and the turkey was flavorless. Sadly, while eating, I found a piece of wire in the mashed potatoes. I almost threw up! This was the worst meal I’ve had at this restaurant. The quality has hit rock bottom.

Me and family had the worst experience today at Hope Valley on Shannon Road Durham NC. First after ordering we waited 40 minutes to be served. My eggs and my waffle was cold. My husband ordered a omelette with bell peppers and tomato’s added. The bell papers and tomatoes were not there. Not only that the omelette and all the fillings was burnt. His hashbrowns was burnt like straw. And his toast had plastics brush bristles mixed with the butter. The waitress was nice enough to remove his meal from the ticket. However after all these years I don’t think we will be going back.
