This was disgusting. First off all.. the meat should have been shredded. A Reuben always has shredded corned beef. The potatoes were basically boiled and unseasoned and in slices. They were not browned or roasted at all. Same with the carrots. The beef was horrendous. Tough. Fatty. Chewy. Inedible for the most part. The thousand island tasted like Kraft. Cheap. There was very little kraut which is one of the main components of a Reuben. This could have been so good but they found a way to completely destroy this concept.
Now, let’s talk about how awkward the service is here. It’s so rushed. We had barely gotten our food and while there was still food on our plates, our waitress came and asked if we wanted boxes. Rude. Then when they bring you the check, the waitress stands there and runs your card on some hand held terminal. Bizarre. You are given an hour to order, eat, and drink and get out the door apparently. At exactly 1hr and 3 mins in, the restaurant manager came to our table and basically kicked us out and said it was the “hardest part of his job.”
I will not be visiting this place again. Awful food. Weird atmosphere. Weird service. I’d rather grab McDonald’s breakfast.
Pinacolada french toast was bit too sweet for our liking albeit its unique offering. Hash browns very disappointing but Stuffed Poblano was ok . Beverages and the drinks checked the ok box. Anna B serviced out table and was very patient and quick.
This wasnt an wowlicious place nevertheless a good breakfast / brunch experience in and around twin cities
Chicken and waffles were a nice portion size and a hit with my teenager. 2 maple syrup
Options (jalapeño and plain). No sides included but not really needed due to the ample portion size.
Hashbrowns – ordered a side and was disappointed. Soft almost mushy in the middle the outside not crispy enough.
Avocado toast – I didn’t want the fried avocado so asked for fresh sliced instead and they easily accommodated my request. Served w two poached eggs cooked perfectly.
Order didn’t come out at once, waffles were served and several minutes later the avocado toast which requires minimal cooking came out. Served w a side of fruit, which seemed a bit old as the blueberries were mushy.
Upon completing our meal I tried to find our server to pay the bill she dropped off. She was busy at the espresso machine for several minutes so I went to the hostess to see if we could pay. She went and told our server who came by a few minutes later to check us out. That process could have been better, we waited an awful long time to leave.
Overall the food was tasty but a bit overpriced and service was slow and inattentive.
In my other review, I mentioned that I would give the food itself a 3, but other factors like their cute “believe in breakfast” slogan, the hospitable service, their various kinds of coffee, and their ability to keep up with so many customers with such a large menu and their food variety. Well all these other factors remained at this Eagan location, and what I ordered this time tasted very good as well, so a 5 all around.
The stuffed poblano was the only staff choice that I had not tasted yet, and if the fried chicken and waffles used to be my favorite, then this would be my new favorite. The egg, cheese, poblano pepper, and hashbrown combination actually make the dish taste a bit “huevos racheros”-ish, especially if one adds carnitas and then add hot sauce on top of it. The variety of texture and flavors makes this dish a very pleasant experience. I also had a unicorn mimosa this time, and fully enjoyed the process of pouring champagne into red and blue cotton candy, and seeing the liquid turning purple entirely which was very visually appealing! Based on these two, my experience here was nothing short of amazing, honestly.
I have included a few photos from the Saint Louis Park location as well, and my review from that location would critically explain what my assessment of those items were. But like I said, stuffed poblano is my new favorite now after trying it today!
I have worked 10+ years in the service industry and I have to say that this place is beyond top tier. The staff is so professional and kind and the management is beyond amazing. The manager, Jeremy, was incredibly hands-on with his staff and he made time to come talk to us, even when it was extremely busy. Jeremy makes sure that everyone that comes in leaves happy with their experience.
Our server, Anna, was incredibly knowledgeable and offered excellent recommendations that did not disappoint. The bartenders, Lexi and Addi, were efficient, skilled, and outstanding at what they do.
My girlfriend had the Chicken Biscuit, and I ordered the B.B.L.A.T.; both were incredibly flavorful. The Bloody Mary I had was easily one of the best I’ve ever tasted.
In the end, the combination of exceptional service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere made this one of the best brunch experiences we’ve ever had. We can’t wait to come back and enjoy it all over again!
