I remember this place growing up as the old train station. This is actually the 1st time I’ve been back since it was renovated into its current condition. Very cool how the took the space and changre it up, but it still looks like the old train station. They were fairly busy on a Friday night and I found an empty spot at the large bar. It was full with families and couples having a good time. I ordered an ale and an IPA along with a burger while a read. I can’t remember the name of the ale, but it was good. Smooth and malty. The New holland tangerine IPA was fire though. I haven’t had a good tangerine IPA since I left Florida. The hangover burger was good, although a little salty. I’m never going to say no to a burger with a runny egg. Service was pleasant and attentive.

Second time at HopCat and it was just as good as the first . always nice when the food and service are consistent.
We tried the Cowboy Burger, Rodeo Clown, Pickleback Chicken, Hangover Helper, and the Buffalo Mac.
Honestly, everything was pretty good across the board and everyone left happy.
Big shoutout to our waiter – super friendly and smiling the whole time. That kind of service makes such a difference.
Also, the location near Western Michigan University is really convenient, and there’s plenty of parking here, which is a huge plus.

We had a group of 7. It wasn’t overly busy when we went. Service was slow and we are actually a really patient group. We had to ask for every single thing and wave down the server several times. We had to repeatedly ask for refills, ask for silverware, appetizer plates, salt and pepper, etc. Atmosphere was nice but some cleaning needs to be done overhead. Every time the fans come on you can see dust flying around. The food was not that good. The egg on the burger was so over cooked it was crunchy and the fish was so overcooked it was chewy.

Not a good experience…slow service (10+ minutes to be acknowledged), chili was room temperature but based on our wait wasn’t about to send back and meat and cheese toppings on nachos were lacking. No check in or drink refills offered until we were ready for bill. Burger was good and the BBQ chicken salad was solid, but overall disappointing visit.

This place is very good. They have quite a variety of food and a good selection of drinks, especially beer!!!. The appetizer I ordered was cosmic curd. It was very tasty and good!!!. Their food is also good here!!. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere here is very nice, industrial and comfy. A very lovely place!!!

Had our holiday party at HopCat and it was an absolute blast! Reygan and Warner were exceptional at making sure the drinks kept flowing and the food was hot. We had such an incredible time and would recommend this spot for any large event!!!!

11-2-25 First and Last time here. They served us luke warm food. All three dishes we ordered were all luke warm. Not hot not really warm, nope! cold to the touch and the meat was luke warm at best. Like they sat in the window for too long. Either server issue or cook staff. The place is disgusting from the night before the booths had food and whatever else on them from the night before the bathroom had not been cleaned since the night before as the floor was soaked with urine and the smell was wretched. When you drop a hundred dollars at a location. U expect it to be worth it. allowing the location to open before it has been cleaned from the night before is outrageous and LAZY! The glasses need to be replaced they are discusting looking. U can’t tell if they are dirty or clean. clearly nobody at this location cares about anything except money. The food tasted ok nothing special and again it was cold. Pretty much save yourself the sickness you will get from this nasty dirty place and go somewhere else. Our server was the best part about the experience but overall this place is a 2 star at Best.

I went around 3:45 or 4 pm on a Thursday with my folks. Wasn’t very busy at that time, though it was cold out and snowing. I’ve had food from Hopcat before, and knew it was pretty good, only ever been to the one in Grand Rapids though.
Walking in it was a really big place that looked deceptively small from the outside. As we were getting seated I saw the row of booths and asked if we could sit there because they looked awesome. Half booth style raised seating with this 70s retro green vinyl. The whole placed was definitely a vibe, with all the artwork and whatnot.
Food was great, we got the lobster Mac, the 4 cheese grilled cheese w/ tomato basil soup and a rueben sandwich. I ordered some truffle cosmic fries as an app that we crushed. The server was just a college kid, didn’t really seem to care all that much. Price was pretty steep, $70+ for 3 people that ordered Mac and Cheese and 2 sandwiches? Probably won’t go anytime soon with those kind of numbers, it was good tasting but not that good.
All in all good time, but probably not going often.

The service was good the food was not bad. Good for a quick and satisfactory dinner. I got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it was good but the chicken was a bit stringy gut overall.
