I have been a customer here my entire life. 30 years and counting. Their Chinese food was the best I have ever had and was consistently good whenever I would order it. I am so glad many of my favorite hometown restaurants are still in business and have continued serving high quality food. Many places have declined in quality over the years, but Hop Hing has stayed consistent with quality and portion sizes.

Fantastic experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and generous in portion. Service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and clean. Definitely our new go-to spot for Chinese food. Highly recommend!

Last time we were in area, 2.5 years ago, original owners were still here and it was still the best chinese food in the area. We ordered General Tsos chicken and orange chicken with fried pork dumplings. The dumplings were not good, flat and dried out. The 2 chicken dishes were edible but they tasted the same. What a shame that the food has gotten this bad.. Can’t say we will eat here again when we visit.

Was passing by Berkeley heights and googled Chinese food and got this restaurant.. called them up , placed order and it was ready in 10 mins . Parking is a bit smaller there and tough to get it next to the restaurant…
General tsos tofu was very good . We ordered a regular size lunch and it was sumptuous .. can easily fill up 2 people . Lots of rice and curry . Kung Pao chicken was ultimate … very nicely made and spicy too. ️ ️ ️. Went well with white rice . I thought it was a little bit expensive though. Costed about 40$ for both . If not for the price , it’s just a superbbbb place for Chinese food . There are tables inside to sit and eat… good experience overall…

This place used to be good, but now it’s not the food quality is garbage. Every dish is filled with tons of chicken as opposed to the vegetables that were supposed to be part of it like eggplant for example. Swimming and sauce. Absolutely not worth the money but even if it’s worth it, the food is not good. I’m really disappointed with the quality. This is the last time I’m ordering from this place a place I went to for years.

The owner Tuan is super friendly and gives back to the community. It reminds me of the quick serve Chinese places that I used to frequent in NYC when I wanted Americanized Chinese food. The veggies are super fresh and I’m sure they make a killer beef and broccoli.

The chop suey and the chicken fried rice were quite good. Really loved their presentation and will definitely order from here again.

I Am very confused because this place used to be so good. Tonight when we ordered, it took an hour to come and the food is completely different than it used to be. The chicken is not chicken. When we cut up the sesame chicken, it looks almost like fried dough. Very disappointed.

I am surprised I have not posted sooner. Hop Hing has always served some of the freshest Chinese food in the area. Vegetable or chicken lo mein to hibachi shrimp. Fast Service and reasonably priced. I like my food slightly spicy

I echo the recent bad reviews. This place used to be the best. They have recently gone downhill.
Their food is sub-par, and they straight up LIE about the portion size. While taking the food out of the bag, I could tell that the containers were smaller. I tried to pour 4 cups of water into the “QT” sized container, and the water was overflowing. Not even close to a quart. Thieves.
The General Tso’s chicken was terrible. The Pork Lo Mein had 3 small pieces of pork in it and completely lacked flavor.
It’s a shame, but I will not be ordering from here again.
Wonton soup was good.
