the food is Fantastic, well-balanced and pitch perfect. Full marks on the presentation and the delivery of the final product. They are Authentic. spicy, punchy but tolerable. While a lot of self-claimed sichuan restaurants tone down on 麻/numbing taste of their dishes from the sichuan peppercorns, HOP HAUS dialed it in. They simply get it done
Chef prepared everything from start to finish, he cooks with care, and each dish is on standards. Yes they are bit pricy but imho it’s worth it. You are paying for quality and the experience through the food.
They just opened up so I highly recommend patience as they are figuring things out while maintaining a high quality of food.

The Mao Xue Wang (a Sichuan dish) was very authentic; I tasted the numbing, spicy, fresh, and fragrant flavors—something I haven’t been able to find in the US. Even more remarkable was the pleasant feeling I experienced here, a kind of pleasant buzz (excitement) similar to after drinking alcohol, after eating the authentic Sichuan spicy and numbing flavor.
After the meal, I chatted briefly with the owner (who was also the chef). He’s from Sichuan and has a legendary background.
