I’ve given this establishment five stars, because it’s not terribly fancy, or spectacular but because of the random cat who shows up to procure pets. To be honest, the drinks are good but overpriced (but that’s typical for a pub like this) and the bathroom situation could use help. That aside. . . It has a welcoming atmosphere of intellectuals and open minded people. They have a decent collection of games, and vegan food options. I really enjoyed the cashier, he was charming and knowledgeable. All-in-all, it’s not a bed spot, nor is it as pretentious as SOME hipster pubs I’ve been to. It’s worth a visit if you’re meeting up with a group. I think a wheelchair could be hard to navigate in the corridor to the back patio because the flow of foot traffic, but it’s not impossible. It seems the patrons would be considerate enough to make space to traverse. Haven’t seen any fights or obnoxiously drunk people, that’s always great.

We love this place; great outdoor space, good food, nice beer list, awesome non-alcoholic options, always helpful and nice staff. The patio being dog friendly is fantastic. I had to give them three stars for my last visit though. Despite signs posted in the restaurant indicating that parties with unsupervised and rowdy kids would be asked to leave, there were dozens of kids running and screaming around the patio area, running around tables of other parties, getting in the way of servers, and making it difficult for people to walk back to tables with their drinks the entire time we were there. At one point we witnessed a kid slap another kid in the mouth.
Im not sure if the staff who posted those signs were off shift, or why these parties weren’t asked to contain the kids, but it really made the patio a pretty difficult place to even have a conversation. I hope this was a one off night; we’d be bummed to feel like we couldn’t have a nice evening here.

Hop Gardens in Sacramento is a fantastic spot for craft beer lovers! The beer selection is excellent with plenty of variety to explore. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, making great recommendations. They have ample seating for large parties, which is perfect for group gatherings. The only drawback is limited parking, so arrive early or plan to walk a bit. Despite the parking challenge, it’s well worth visiting for great beer and a welcoming atmosphere!

I went here with several co-workers for a work holiday gathering and it is just about a block down the street from the famous Gunther’s ice cream on Franklin boulevard. This restaurant is nestled in a very quaint and charming Curtis Park neighborhood. The food is not bad. I ordered the meatball sandwich and it comes with a side salad. It was a good, decent portion and was tasty. They have a large outdoor dining area with outdoor heaters. They also have indoor dining too. They had a really good selection of beer and wine.

Hop Garden should be called Hot Garbage. We spent over $100 to taste test the menu. Best thing was the oven baked artichoke (which seemed battered and fried) and the mushrooms. Everything else was so bland. And brussels came out burned, and left the worst taste in my mouth. Cider was decent but nothing special that you cant get from a can at grocery outlet. Decent beer – it was cold, but how do you sell beer but not offer pitchers? Won’t recommend, suggest or ever visit this place again. If the food is bad, at least have good customer service. If your food and service is bad, at least have good drinks. This place is 0-3 in that regard.
Vibe was DEAD in this place. We were looking for a regular bar to venture from our existing neighborhood pub but this is definitely NOT it.

I love their hamburgers, their on-par with Tower Cafe. The staff is wonderful; friendly, welcoming and helpful. The restaurant is spacious. I really enjoy their decor and overall vibe. They have nice outdoor seating. And, you can go across the street after dinner and grab Gunther’s ice cream if you’re in the mood. Oh, and the restaurant is kid-friendly.

Ordered the Hawaiian with no onion but I guess they didn’t care much for the preference. Low energy from both server and guy at the front. Came a while back and service and atmosphere was way better, today it was just weird(no music, only the sound of other people cackling). Food was tasty though.

I thought this was just an average beer place, but I was dead wrong. Its beer menu is on the Untappd app. If you’re a big beer fan, you’d probably know all about it.
It had 93 beers to choose from. It was a good problem to have. I wanted draft beers and not in cans. There were still 23 draft beers. I ordered a “blueberry muffin fruit in the can”, a smoothie sour at 6% abv, for my friend. It tasted just like juice. I guess that’s why it got a very high rating on Untappd. I got myself an IPA called Whale Watching and it was pretty good.
Since this place was big on beers, I thought maybe the food wouldn’t be that good. I was pleasantly surprised. From the burrata plate (burrata, bread, pesto and cherry tomatoes) to the apple walnut salad and to the truffle shuffle pizza, everything was delicious. Was I starving? Not really, but I ate like I was.
One bonus about this place is that it’s walking distance to Gunthers for some ice cream afterwards, which we did. Definitely want to go back to try more drafts and food items!

Went here to dine in. The food items may look and smell pleasing but the taste falls short of that – there was little flavor and the strong presence of vinegar was in the salad dressing and pizza stuffing. The atmosphere was rowdy and extremely crowded even outdoors. I don’t recommend eating here for pizza or anything but merely the social aspect & drinks.
