This is an absolutely awesome place to eat! The staff is absolutely friendly and kind. The food portions are BIG! The catfish pivot and shrimp po boy sandwiches were soooo goood! Their fries are delicious!!! I can’t say enough good things about this place. Good Food, good atmosphere and great staff! 10/10 I recommend!!!

LEAH! My server Leah has changed the game of the whole experience I can’t even begin with where it wasn’t just the best place. I sat down and Leah got my drinks like an instant she not only made sure we knew everything on the menu and how it worked but she made sure us eating was her entire reason to be there. She took care of us like as if we was her friends. That lady needs a gold star or sum. Thanks for the greatest food and super quick service and the kind hospitality. I will be coming back. Best place and server I’ve had. Yall got y’all’s place taken care of and that’s just that.

When I went it was between lunch and dinner so there was 3 tables in the restaurant so the service was spot on. Lol . The food was fresh and hot. Tased great. House seasoning was a little salty, but so am I have ZERO complaints. Will be back several more times. Period.

This is everything I hoped and dreamed it would be. Have my birthday on Valentine’s Day and I chose the perfect spot.
Our server Leah J was exceptional. Her speed of service had me thinking she was running marathons. And her thoroughness? Astounding. Every single one of our needs was met to perfection. Leah J is not a server, nor is she a waitress. She is a shift lead. I will never not request her upon my return.
Now the food, the boils? Exceptional. Hot and ready, and regardless of the traffic for the holiday it came out fresh, tasty, and quickly! Sea critters look out! Hook and Reel is coming to get you!!
Watching the teamwork the staff displayed, their pride in their work and the overall warm inviting environment and cleanliness of the restaurant was amazing.

Jennah was our server & she was outstanding. We had an allergy that was uncommon in a seafood place. She was able to ensure and double check that it was possible, and it was great! All our food came out correct & quickly too, she was super attentive with our needs and refills! Thanks for a great dinner!

Our server Clay was exceptional. Very personable, well spoken, knowledgeable. He is one of the better waiters we have ever had here (not that we have ever had poor service) we got “all you can eat” and he was very attentive and there was zero wait time between our orders. 100% recommend.

We wanted to try a seafood place in Jacksonville, NC and found Hook & Reel Cajon Seafood on N. Marine Blvd. Plenty of available parking even for dinner on a Saturday. We were greeted at the front and immediately seated. Atmosphere was very welcoming.
Our server, Clayton B., greeted us as well. He was very personable and attentive. He was able to provide his personal menu recommendations and helped us with our menu selections. We chose the Dun & Done Seafood Boil in seasoned garlic butter and a 1/2 Breaded Shrimp and 1/2 Flounder Basket with cajun fries.
Our food was ready with a very short wait. It was steaming hot and ready to eat. Clay was 100% spot on with seafood boil recommendations. The food was delicious and spiciness seasoning was just right (for me). The basket was great. As I was packing up the remaining portion of my boil, Clay even brought me extra sauce for later.
We’ll be back to try other menu items.

Maddie was incredible, I ordered seasoned garlic butter in spicy and she mentioned it was her GO TO and the food proved exactly why!! We also tried the crab bites, they were very well seasoned but I wish they were deep fried for longer. We asked for old bay on the rim of our bloody Mary’s and that should be STANDARD IT WAS SOOOO GOOODDDD!!!! I came here before but this time made me want to become a regular. Especially Maddie! I am surprised she was tucked in the back she is a stellar worker!! Loved her!!!

I’m only giving it four stars because they overcooked our seafood boil just a little. Other than that, everything else was worthy of a five-star review. Everyone was very friendly and kind to us from the moment we walked in the door. Our waitress, Molly Jo, was extraordinarily kind, patient and friendly. She did not act rushed or in a hurry to get to another table and gave us excellent recommendations on everything from appetizers through desert. It is rare to get such great service, especially at chain restaurants. The oysters here were surprisingly delicious, big, juicy, and just as good as the more expensive local restaurants. We’re usually not fans of chain restaurants like this, but we are very glad we made this spontaneous decision to try this place. Oh, and the desert was amazing!
