Amazingly Delicious Fish and Chips
On the day we visited, they were serving haddock—and it was perfection. The fish was fresh, lightly breaded, and beautifully crisp without the heavy, doughy coating that often weighs down classic fish and chips. Every bite was light and flavorful.
The staff were friendly, fast, and impressively efficient, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The stall is conveniently located next to a cluster of tables, which made it easy to grab a seat and dig in right away. A simple setup, but everything about it hit the spot.

Great experience here at Hook It Up. Located in the very cool and hip Sawmill Market, this restaurant is an absolute must visit. The staff were awesome and the food did not take long at all. I had the fish and chips and hush puppies. I liked the creativity of the hush puppies but they weren’t what I was thinking. Definitely worth a try and keep in mind that they are very big and come in a pair as a serving size. The fish and chips were so delicious and the fish was huge! I was hungry and this… Hit. The. Spot! I love malt vinegar and tartar sauce and they had both. Everything was served hot and I couldn’t have been happier! (There are a ton of great spots here and it is easy to be jealous of other’s food choices but not me!)

Everything is on point. The fish is incredible. Beer battered onion rings are amazing. Holiday weekend and this place is packed yet service was excellent. Definitely returning to try more off the menu.

I’ve had better fish and chips. I don’t understand why everyone says this is the best. It was not a good experience from the start as they automatically added a tip onto the already expensive meal for ONE PERSON. I told the woman that what she did was illegal. We ended up getting into a very loud argument about the tip. I said I would not be returning. She refunded the first order and had to run my card again. I was so upset I couldn’t enjoy my meal. Their food gave me a stomach ache.

Overall great meal. Customer service on point. An example of that is, I order a bottled coke but the worker warned me that they were just delivered and still warm. I didn’t get a soda. He could have said nothing but was looking out for me. I appreciate his integrity. One thing a little negative. The fries were a little salty for my liking. You may like them salty but it was a little much. Not a deal breaker. I’ll be back with family.

Shop local shoutout to this fish’n chips gem in the Sawmill (Albuquerque). Fish portions are big, fries perfectly cooked. We tried the coleslaw & honey mustard sauce which were extra but delicious.
