We will be temporarily closed for the season minus a day a week for Wine Shop Sales and the bar. the day will be announces after Thanksgiving. Thank you. Hood Canale’s bar and wine shop- The Grotto features local craft, draft beers and an extensive wine list from the Northwest and well beyond. We have Flights for Wine, beer and more. We specialize in a Naples style pizza and interesting appetizers with as organic ingredients as we can get. Come down on the water and relax and dine with us. We will be temporarily closed for winter starting November 23rd for renovations. We will reopen Spring 2026 with new menus, exciting new wines and surprises. See you then!

We had a good dinner here on a chilly Friday night and heard some good music. Interesting wine selection. We were a little disappointed that the spicy meatballs had just been taken off the menu (seasonal item apparently, though they were on the website menu), but managed with some sauteed shrimp in a cast iron skillet instead, very tasty! Also very cool that they supply scissors to cut the pizza! Good twist. May have to try this place again in the summer months.

Absolutely amazing pizza. I say this as a hard-core East Coast ‘za snob. Crisp, chewy crust, delicious toppings, fantastic combo of flavors.
The location was cozy. A tent? In November? Yep. It worked. There’s radiant heating and even lap blankets if you want them. And this was one of the last nights before they closed for the season. Beautiful scenery, snug and fun.
The staff and other patrons treated us like friends. It felt as much like a get-together as a restaurant. I really hope we get a chance to go back.

Great new addition to Union. Excellent selection of new and old world wines plus various regional beers on tap. And coming in a matter of days, the will be an array of wood fire pizzas. Great outside seating and live music venue. We’ll be back.

This place is a must-see when visiting Union, Washington. The pizzas are not your regular fare but they are incredible creations! They also have a great selection of beer and wine. But, mostly, is the atmosphere. It’s very laid back and sits on the water. It has kind of a Hawaiian vibe to it. We just absolutely love it and will make it a regular spot to visit when traveling along the Hood Canal.

This place is amazing! Highly recommend. The food was amazing, the service was great, and the pizza was fantastic !! Not to mention the view. We had a wonderful time and also happened to come on trivia night. So fun. Make a reservation if you can and check the website for open hours. It said closed on yelp but website said differently.

What a great addition to the area. This bar / restaurant is one of the greatest places I’ve ever been. The food is so delicious it’s just ridiculous. Lovely cocktails and friendly hospitality in a beautiful setting. I’d be happy to go there any day of the week. I hope you will come check it out 🙂
