A legit Hawaiian food spot, I haven’t had a good garlic shrimp plate in CA until now (it reminds me of Giovanni’s shrimps). Also, I tried their crunchy Gojujang fried chicken and beef ribs and they were delicious. I would definitely recommend these dishes as a first timer here and wash it down with Dole pineapple slushy.

We were hankering for Hawaiian food on our way back to LA from Las Vegas and man did this place hit the spot.
Service was fast and there are tables outside for dinning there.
We tried the garlic shrimp, galbi short ribs, , bbq chicken, and spam masubi. Each meal came with mac salad, cabbage slaw, and white rice. There was so much food for 2 meals per plate and everything was delicious.
Highly recommend and a great price.

Love to come here and devour a plate or two because the food aint nothin to complain about but i just wish there could be more on the plate for the price I’m paying compared to other Hawaiian spots . Staff is really cool and welcoming, everytime i come here it’s very organized

Ordered online. Bbq chicken was good, not too salty, but good bbq flavor. Ribs were a bit on salty, over marinated and a bit dry. Shredded cabbage added nice texture to the whole meal. Large portion.

Just spent $150 on 6 plates for my family of 7 and we killed everything. Amazing flavor, fresh and cooked to order. beef was perfectly cooked (galbi & beef rib) and both so tender. The beef rib is must try and the Mac salad is super cold and not overly creamy, well balanced, enjoyable every bite.

Visited Honu Hawaiian Barbecue for the first time on a weekday and decided to try the beef rib and garlic butter shrimp. The food was not bad—flavors were decent, and the portions were generous. However, we ended up waiting for 40 minutes, which was quite disappointing. If the wait time is this long on a weekday, I can’t imagine how it would be on a weekend. Overall, while the food was satisfactory, the lengthy wait makes it hard to justify a return visit.

I have came here two times and will definitely be back for a third. The first time I brought a friend and then the second time we brought another friend. Both of them loved it! I’m not sure why people are complaining about the wait the lady is nice enough to let everyone know that the food is MADE TO ORDER meaning they cook it AFTER you order. I believe it’s worth it and very delicious because it comes out at the perfect temperature. We have an hour lunch and it’s only ever taken 15-20 minutes max and that is on a Friday for lunch.
My favorite would be the short rib and second would be the garlic shrimp. It is very filling and the portions are big as you can see in the photo.
I can say this is a hidden little gem in the corner of this shopping center. If you are debating, TRY IT you will not regret it.

We went to the business on a weekend and ordered the beef ribs and the masubi. The ribs tasted really good. You get 3 ribs, rice, and macaroni salad. The masubi had a slim piece of spam and overstuffed with rice. The ribs were fatty and barely had meat on it. This is a fast food place, which I knew, but is priced at a premium. It took a long time for the order to be ready and we sat at a food court area of the business plaza. It was hot inside and the tables were dirty. I asked one of the staff of the food court area if there was anyway to clean the tables, he gave me a cocktail napkin for me to clean myself. Very Unsatisfactory. When our food was ready, I asked for some water and she gave me a very small cup of warm water, no ice in it. I’m not a person that demands anything, I want to see how businesses treat their guests and I can share to others. Keep in mind, it is very hot outside, Very Inexcusable for a business to welcome guests to clean their own table, give warm water on a hot day and have them sit down in a warm dining area. If paying for premium price for food, you should be treated well. Disappointed time and will not go there again.

Honu Hawaiian deserves 5 stars. At a time when restaurant is often pricy, service deprived, measer quantity and lack of quality, Honu is not one of those. The quantity is plenty, quality is better than ono or L&L close to kbbq place and its quite affordable for current price. I hope they maintain the quality, quantity moving forward. edited™ price has been increasing rapidly so no more the trifecta edited again™ wife made mistake in seeing price increase they still have the trifecta. wishing it stay the same…
