OMG is literally all I can say! This place is absolutely a gem. The food was amazing! I have a gluten allergy (Celiac) so I had the chicken pad Thai and General Tso chicken, both prepared gluten free and so delicious! I came here after seeing another review comparing it to Lili and Loo in NYC, which was some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. This place is right up there with it! The portions are large and priced accordingly. Service was impeccable as well.

My husband and I split the Sesame Beef, General Tso Chicken, & the Chicken Fried Rice, all made Gluten Free due to my allergy.
The food was phenomenal!! I had not eaten Chinese food since 2023 when I visited New York City and ate at Lillie and Loo and this is much better with bigger portions. I am thrilled that this is only a two hour drive from me. Finding asian food that is GF is difficult, but this is just good no matter the alteration!! My husband was floored at how good it was and we are already planning our next visit.

** UPDATE**
I have now eaten here more than half a dozen times and it has been excellent every. single. time. I highly recommend this place and I have taken friends who also loved it.

My husband and I went to Hong Kong on a Friday evening for our weekly date night. I have mixed feelings about the experience, hence the 3-star rating.

Pros:

The food was good. We ordered the Beef and Broccoli and the General Tso’s Chicken, and both dishes were tasty with generous portion sizes.

The location is very convenient for us since it’s in East Cobb/Marietta, just minutes from our home.

Prices were reasonable for the portion sizes.

The restaurant wasn’t crowded and seems to focus mostly on delivery and takeout, as we saw several delivery drivers coming in and out.

Cons:

Since this was date night, we were hoping for a quiet, relaxed dining experience. While we didn’t expect constant attention, we did expect basic check-ins like water refills.

Instead, we felt uncomfortably watched the entire time by two men and the waitress. It made us feel rushed and unwelcome, as if they wanted us to leave as soon as possible.

To make matters worse, after we paid, one of the men abruptly snatched the bill from the table, which felt extremely rude.

Because of the uncomfortable service experience, we won’t be returning, despite enjoying the food.

Food is amazing! Duck sauce tastes like candy. Steamed dumplings melt in your mouth and the seaseme chicken is to die for! Heads up gen X… don’t go on a Sunday evening when it’s 45 degrees out wearing shorts. The boomers in the place will not stop staring at you, judging you in their boomer ways. 😉

Love the food here and some good beer too. Older style building but cozy. Staff is super nice, chats with us, and attentive. We usually dine early here with a toddler who makes a mess and they are very chill about it. Definitely recommend going here.

Wow! Authentic Hong Kong-style Chinese food in Marietta, with gluten-free options for celiacs / coeliacs.

As a Hong Konger, I usually stick to my usual Chinese restaurants like Canton Cooks, Bobo Garden, and Canton House (dim sum). However, I needed an option for my partner, who is celiac and requires any restaurant we go to to be free of cross-contamination.

The restaurant is located in a strip mall with ample parking. The exterior sign is worn, but don’t let that deter you from experiencing authentic Hong Kong dishes!

Chinese chess (象棋) art installations adorn the walls on one side of the restaurant.

We arrived for dinner and were pleasantly surprised to find no wait. There were probably four other parties seated. Our waiter(s) were quick to take our beverage order and walked us through the menu, explaining which dishes could be made gluten-free.

We ordered 乾炒牛河 (Beef Chow Fun, flat noodles), 咕嚕雞 (the traditional version of Sweet & Sour Chicken), and a plate of 白菜 (Bok Choy). Each dish came with a bowl of rice, except for the noodle dish. My partner’s gluten-free dishes were clearly marked with “gluten free” skewers. The portions were generous, and I had leftovers for the following day. My partner was not glutened and thoroughly enjoyed his dishes!

The dishes we tried were delicious and reminded me of home.

We’re planning to return soon with the family.

This was the worst Chinese food I’ve had in years. Over $80 for egg rolls, egg drop soup, and 2 meals. The egg rolls were small and flavorless, the egg drop soup has tofu and weird crisp noodle-like things it. Allergic to tofu so that was a waste. What 12 year old dislikes egg rolls?! Apparently my kid only dislikes these. And I agreed with him. Dinners were nothing special and over priced. Would love a refund but no one bothered answering when I called. l won’t be coming here again. Shocked there are such good reviews.

We have eaten at this establishment for many years, but hadn’t been back as much this year for no particular reason (logistical, etc.). I was excited to bring a friend to eat here and was very disappointed to discover that the prices have all been raised and the quality of the food has gone down. Additionally, we received rude treatment from the elderly gentleman who stands at the bar. We asked questions about different kinds of noodles and received a condescending answer, including having a finger shaken at us, and when we tried to ask a question, he huffed away on two occasions. In the past, this person has been humorous with us and we thought we had a nice rapport with him and were shocked by the very indecorous treatment. Unfortunately, the food did not make up for the lack of courtesy. Our Mongolian beef had very little beef in it, and had almost quite literally an entire onion. Our vegetable Mu Shu was barely cooked and essentially just raw vegetables. We also paid extra for additional Mu Shu pancakes, but the pancakes were stale and all stuck together, so despite receiving two packets of four, we essentially only received two functional pancakes. There were other issues as well but I won’t belabor them. In summary, I have to say that we were bitterly resentful of the treatment and lack of quality that we received at this establishment after supporting them for literally a decade. Hong Kong star has become more like Hong Kong black hole. We will not give them another penny or any more of my time, and you shouldn’t either.
