I recently visited Hong Kong Restaurant, a vibrant spot in the city center specializing in authentic Cantonese and Hong Kong-style dishes, and it quickly became one of my new favorites for Asian cuisine. From the moment I stepped inside, the lively atmosphere with its colorful decor, traditional lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and the bustling open kitchen filled with the sizzle of woks created an immersive dining experience that felt like a mini trip to Hong Kong itself. The staff were friendly and efficient, our waiter, Alex, was knowledgeable about the menu, suggesting must-tries and accommodating our dietary preferences without any fuss.
We kicked off with the dim sum platter, which included steaming baskets of har gow (shrimp dumplings), siu mai (pork and shrimp), and char siu bao (barbecue pork buns). Everything was fresh, with delicate wrappers and flavorful fillings that weren’t overly greasy, truly some of the best I’ve had outside of Asia. For entrees, I opted for the crispy Peking duck served with thin pancakes, hoisin sauce, and scallions; the skin was perfectly crunchy, and the meat tender and juicy. My friend chose the Hong Kong-style chow mein with seafood, loaded with prawns, squid, and vegetables in a savory sauce over crispy noodles, it was generous in portion and packed with umami.
The drink menu featured refreshing options like Hong Kong milk tea and fresh fruit teas, which paired wonderfully with the meal. We finished with mango pudding for dessert, light and creamy with real fruit chunks. Prices were fair (mains around $15-25), and the place was clean, with spacious seating that’s great for families or groups. They even have takeout options and delivery for those busy nights.
Overall, Hong Kong Restaurant delivers on flavor, authenticity, and value. Whether you’re craving classic street food vibes or a sit-down feast, this place nails it. I’ve recommended it to friends already and plan to return for their weekend specials. Five stars—highly worth the visit!

Stopped in and ordered a lunch for 1 of roast pork n Chinese vegetables, egg roll and fried rice. The lady was not rude. My order was ready promptly and the food was very good. Don’t confuse the short replies with being rude. Sometimes it’s just the way people are.

Hong Kong has been around for a long time and never fails to disappoint when it comes to food or portions. Like many restaurants since covid they don’t have much of a dining room, and like any good Chinese place it has that charm, if you’re grabbing takeout this is the place for you, I highly recommend the general two combo and their fried dumplings

The owners were very rude, especially when I had to bring my raw chicken back, and I even showed them where it was pink, but they were persistent on telling me that the pink that I seen inside of the chicken was not raw chicken. That’s the first time I’ve got raw chicken from there, but it is not the first time that I have had to deal with the rude owners Couldn’t tell you why they’re so rude or stuck up. The food is not even that good

It’s so a joy to find authentic Chinese food in a small town. I ordered Singapore noodles, and my husband ordered Sichuan chicken. They are both delicious! We will definitely come back!

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. The employees are extremely rude. They don’t empty the plates off the table, they don’t give refills, and the food is NEVER fresh. It’s awful!! Every time I go, I hope for a different experience but it’s always the same. The old owners are so much better. Definitely never eating there again!!

I try to see the best in everyone, but the people that own/work there are just not friendly people, in my experience. I get the vibe that they don’t want to be there and have no interest in catering to the needs of their customers. I mean no disrespect, and just maybe they don’t either, but this is how I feel.
