I stopped by
Hong Kong House Take Out today
and ended up discovering a dish that isn’t even on the menu.
The cashier, Mr. Ah-wah, personally recommended it—and I’m glad I listened.
The dish was toasted tofu with shredded pork and mixed vegetables, all generously coated in a dark, savory house sauce that tastes like a well-kept secret. Everything was perfectly balanced.
The rice was soft and moist, almost like sushi rice, soaking up the sauce beautifully.
The toasted tofu was cooked just right—lightly crisp on the outside, tender inside, and very easy to chew.
The shredded pork and vegetables were well mixed, each bite full of flavor without being greasy or overwhelming.
That’s how good it was:
I ate the entire plate, down to the very last spoonful of rice.
No leftovers. Just a clean plate and satisfaction.
I’m sharing this review to let Atlantic City residents know that sometimes the best dishes aren’t printed on the menu.
You just have to ask. If you’re looking for something comforting, flavorful, and filling, this off-menu special is worth a try.

IF I WERE ABLE TO ISSUE THEM A ZERO I WOULD HAVE. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I ORDERED ONLINE FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT. WINGS, CHICKEN FRIED RICE WITH GREEN ONIONS AND BEAN SPROUTS, AND AN EGG ROLL FOR MY MOTHER. AS WE PROCEED TO EAT MY MOM STATED THAT THE WINGS TASTED SWEET. SO I ATE ONE AND IT HAD A WEIRD SWEET AFTER TASTE. I DIDN’T LIKE IT AND THE SKIN WAS NOT CRISP IT WAS STICKY NOT WHAT I ORDER. SO I PROCEEDED TO EAT THE RICE AND IMMEDIATELY I TOLD MY MOM TO STOP EATING IT. IT TASTED LIKE SOAPY WATER.
I CALLED THE RESTAURANT VERY PROFESSIONAL ABOUT MYSELF. I INTRODUCED MYSELF AND AS I STARTED TO STATE MY ISSUE WITH MY PURCHASE POINT OF CONTACT PERSON STATED SAYING THAT I NEEDED TO COME IN ALL WHILE TELLING ME HE COULDN’T FIND MY ORDER, LAUGHING AND MAKING OBSCENE REMARKS SAYING “DON’T COME IN AND SHOOT ME”. I WAS STILL TRYING TO INFORM HIM OF THE ISSUE ALL WHILE HE KEPT PLAYING ON THE PHONE. IT WASN’T UNTIL I RAISED MY VOICE AND INFORMED HIM THAT I AM A CUSTOMER AND THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR TOWARDS A CONSUMER. HE FINALLY STOPPED LAUGHING AS I WASN’T PLAYING. I WAS TOLD TO RETURN TO THE RESTAURANT WITH MY RECEIPT WHICH I WAS NEVER PROVIDED. Good taste but the wonton soup was sort of lacking wontons. Still, fast service and hot when picked up. Loved the Shrimp and Chinese Vegetables.

Extremely disappointed!!! I ordered the Mongolian Beef. What I got was some kind of meat in brown sauce with a ton of peppers and onions. I also ordered broccoli with garlic sauce. What I got was mushy broccoli in some sort of pink/orange sauce. The shrimp roll that I also ordered was darn near flat and soggy but it was the best part of the meal!!!

The best Chinese I’ve ever tasted! I ordered this twice while visiting Atlantic City. We knew we would be hungry after a night out, so we ordered it beforehand. Omg so delicious and flavorful. I ordered chicken with broccoli, but requested no veggies in the rice and the broccoli to be made well down, as I like my broccoli soft. They followed all the instructions. The egg roll and dumplings were good.
I don’t eat chicken from Chinese restaurants so for me to like the chicken that came with the order is surprising.. I tend to eat just the broccoli and pork fried rice but decided to take the risk.. glad I did! Next time I come to Atlantic City, I will be ordering from here again!!

Recently ordered food here and it was ok in spite of the fact that my order was incorrect. I Decided to order again and let’s just say the food was again not correct when arrived and it tasted horrible.The wings were like rubber and the food was bland and undercooked.When I called the restaurant I was spoken to very rudely by the man once again when it was his own fault.Needless to say I will not be ordering anything from there again.He is very unprofessional and rude and should not be in customer service on any level.

Stayed the night in AC and this was right near my hotel, worst food I’ve ever paid for.
Super small portions, and the chicken teriyaki looks like it has been recooked multiple times. Smells awful and is very very dark.
