We stopped by Hong Kong Express to try their lunch special, $8.99 per meal which includes a crab rangoon and fried rice. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken. The chicken was mushy and the broccoli was thrown in separately as an afterthought. The rice was dry. The service was friendly and portions were good but because the food lacked flavor, we will not be returning.

Great, family run restaurant. Portions are huge and food is great. Orders in the evening are usually not ready on time (they just tell you too soon) so arrive on time or couple minutes late unless you want to wait.

My family has been ordering from Hong Kong Express for YEARS! Their steamed dumplings have no match in the area (my kid LOVES them for how soft the wrapping is and how good the filling tastes). Fast, friendly service every time.

There was a simple bug in my food and I brought it back before bringing it back. Period. The lady was just telling me that I cannot pay an Apple Pay because customers asked for their money back. It causes her a lot more extra money to send money back to Apple Pay.
Leaving the restaurant I only live a block away from the restaurant. I’ve been going to this place all the time and it has been great. However, there was a bug in my food. I went back to the restaurant to see if I could get my money back and figure out a way to get some new food. She started a fight. She tried to call the police on me. I just want my $8.45 back but that was too much for her.

Customer service very unfriendly. Ordered for dine-in, received a bag with no sauces or utensils. Had to retrieve that myself and ask for duck sauce.
She seems to not understand English well or understood. I guess it was in my head because when other customers came in as I sat at the table to eat she apparently understood well and spoke English some what decently and the customer service was way better than what I received.

After many years of passing by this place, I decided to finally try it. I wish I had been coming here long ago!! The food is delicious and affordable. Portion sizes are perfect . The menu is huge. However, it is mostly meat. There’s only about 11 or so veggie options. More tofu dishes would be great. Either way, I’ll definitely be coming back here! Pictures is the Broccoli and Bean Curd with Garlic Sauce. Comes with a side of white rice.

I love this Restaurant! The Food is delicious, this is the best place to go in Grand Rapids, MI! I have been to many other places for Chinese and I have been disappointed several times! At Hong Kong Express the food is made to order and it’s always fresh! I am a new customer and it is so very good! The prices are amazing! You gotta stop by this restaurant and get the yummy egg rolls! Excellent food and service!
