I can’t get over these egg noodles in this wonton mein! seems like most places serve it up clumped together and you need to split your chopsticks to break them apart – BUT NOT HERE. they are silky and bouncy! and the soup is nicely flavored, enhancing everything in the dish. you also get four big wontons filled with plump shrimp and pork. I also love their hainan chicken, well seasoned, and the filet mignon has a nice kick.
Nice selection of traditional asian dessert options in individual serving sides (tofu pudding with ginger syrup, “che thai”, ube tofu, etc.) and they also sell their wontons/dumplings frozen + noodles in packages.
parking is available on the street!
limited seating, but a lot of folks are doing takeaway!
$11.95 Dumpling Soup includes 8 dumplings. If you want noodles, then it’ll include 4 dumplings with a choice of noodles (flat, vermicelli, or egg). The dumplings are white wontons.
$4-$6 Herbal, dessert drinks to fresh tofu. My $4.95 Green bean and seaweed dessert was refreshing, and anti-inflammatory.
Looking forward to trying more items like their regular wontons, beef dishes, $12.95 hainan chicken on rice, and $9.95+ congee. Apparently their receipt says Congee & Noodle House (previously what their business was called?).
Located next to a water refill place if wanted to also refill there.
And we took home two gallon sized bags of frozen dumplings and wontons. They were easy to pop in a boiling pot and taste so good. The fillings were generous.
We will absolutely be back to this mom and pop shop. One of the owners ran the front of house and she was so sweet. Such a gem in Monterey Park.
If you’re not a noodle person (le gasp), you can’t go wrong with the curry and the hainan chicken. I don’t know how they do it. The food is rich in flavor but I don’t feel greasy or anything after eating it. I guess it’s just super fresh ingredients, homemade, and skillfully cooked food. Try it to believe it!!
