I had the opportunity and privilege of finally making it to Honey Buns in Nahunta for their buffet lunch today.
Let’s start with the salad bar. I had a very fresh and tasty mixed salad with all the trimmings. Excellent start.
Then I had some fried chicken, sausage, corn, Mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes & gravy.
Sausage was cooked perfectly. Slight snap with a little kickback. Very flavorful.
The corn was fantastic. It looked like creamed corn, but this was sweet without the runny cream. Excellent.
Can’t EVER go wrong with mashed potatoes & gravy and Mac and cheese. Both were very good.
Now, the star of the day.
The fried chicken was absolutely amazing.
The kind of amazing that hits your very soul and changes your life. I had the Colonel the other night, but the fried chicken at Honey Buns is next level fantastic.
The coating/skin was exceptional and perfectly seasoned. The chicken was perfectly cooked leaving the meat juicy and packed with excellent flavor and taste. Simply put, the best fried chicken I’ve had in a VERY long time, and will probably haunt me in my dreams until I can get back for more.
If you still haven’t experienced Honey Buns in Nahunta yet, you owe it to your very existence to get over and try them.

Love this gem of a restaurant in southeast Georgia! The food is delicious! You can enjoy the salad bar & buffet or order from the menu. The owner is precious, and she has years of experience cooking authentic & delicious Southern comfort foods. Give them a try! Their servers are friendly and very efficient! I always enjoy lunch here.

Very nice environment the drinks are a good size lemonade and tea both very good! Went on a Sunday around 11am. A little after 12 it was crowded it’s a small size buffet with the option to order. It has two seating areas. Limited selection of food in the buffet but it is delicious!
