My regular favourites are the Classic Smashed Burger and the Buffalo Chicken Burger. All burgers can be made gluten-free with a 30 p supplement for the bun. The gluten-free bun isn’t too bad, but it can get hard and doughy sometimes, and it has tasted almost frozen before.
They also deliver on Uber EATS. I have had some issues with the delivery service; despite ordering just a couple of minutes away, I always find that the beef-based burgers aren’t hot. I ordered a California Burger yesterday, and it was lukewarm, and even the fries were overcooked.
The gluten-free options are really good, as pretty much the entire menu can be made gluten-free, even fried chicken and onion rings – so there’s certainly a lot of choice, and with the white Honest branded paper to serve on the bowls, I always feel safe eating here with my allergy.
The staff are really friendly, and always try their best to deliver the best possible service. There is a service charge, and while I don’t like service charges in general, they do certainly deserve it here.
I do want to focus on some of the positives, as when this place is good, it is VERY GOOD, and they can have the best burgers in town, the smashed patties are juicy, the sauces are good, the fried chicken and fillings is tasty but I’ve just had so many experiences now where the food has looked like it’s been thrown together, they’ve missed customisations (such as adding extra pickles despite removing them completley), the food has been undercooked, the bun has been poorly defrosted that it isn’t the reliable option it once was.
The fries were also very good. Crispy, properly salted, and exactly what you want alongside a burger. The onion rings, though, were the real surprise. Absolute bomb. Crunchy coating, sweet onion inside, and dangerously easy to keep eating. Easily one of the best sides on the table.
The space has a great atmosphere and relaxed vibe. Lively without being chaotic, and it feels like somewhere you can comfortably hang out rather than rush through a meal.
Service was friendly and genuinely welcoming. Orders were taken quickly, food came out fast, and the whole experience felt smooth and easy. That kind of efficient but warm service always makes a difference.
Overall, Honest Burgers delivers exactly what you hope for. Great smashed burgers, strong sides, good energy, and speedy service. One of those places you leave already thinking you’ll come back.
Unfortunately, we still don’t have a proper burger place in Manchester.
Atmosphere was lovely and music was nice and chill but quite loud in the toilets.
Server was very haply yo explain to us the menu and gave us information about drinks not on the menu.
Food was great! And we were served promptly. Very nice rustic minimalist aesthetic. I believe theres a roof terrace. They work with a lot of local suppliers which is really nice addition, they also mention all of these on their menu.
The food was stone cold to start with, the chips were stale there was no chance they were fresh.
The burger they explained are served medium pink except this was a smash burger that was stone cold in the middle and felt slimy to touch.
Upon emailing the restaurant they blamed the uber driver for taking multiple deliveries (I live 10 minutes from the restaurant and the uber driver came directly from the restaurant to me) passing the blame on to the driver is quite shameful considering they also forgot part of our order as part of this which they didn’t acknowledge via email.
