Hondo Sushi is a newly-opened Japanese restaurant located in the centre of Bath, offering beautifully hand-made sushi and a variety of hot food including Donburi and Bento boxes, Ramen using fresh ingredients our home-made soup base is rich in umami-flavour. Vegetarian dishes are also available. With a seating capacity of 80 people we can cater for large groups in our modern clean atmosphere.

Hondo Sushi was a fine restaurant if you’re craving for something Asian in the middle of Bath. We booked in advance so we got in with no wait. The atmosphere was, however, not really great. The tables are really packed, and in overall it was busy and noisy.
The food was indeed really nice. I got a salmon bento, and it was packed with huge, fatty slices of salmon. I couldn’t finish all the rice, but it was really nice for just above £13. The crunchy salmon roll we ordered was also great, juicy, and flavorful, and I love the fact that they had the 4-pcs option; it was sufficient for us.
My friend ordered the Nasi Lemak (or something like that, which was Malaysian food), and although she said it was pretty decent, she had to wait for around 45 minutes for her food to be served. We know that the restaurant is busy, but that was really long and it seems like they were not well-prepared to serve that dish.
Overall, the time of serving and the atmosphere could be improved, but the food was good so we did have a good time here.

Prices are affordable, but the restaurant lacks atmosphere. The tables and chairs are old, and the space feels more like a corner breakfast cafeteria than a cozy dining spot.
The ramen noodles were overcooked, and the broth was missing that rich umami depth. I ordered the eel donburi but was served salmon instead though the dish was still enjoyable. The gyoza didn’t meet expectations, and the takoyaki were undercooked.

This was the best place to eat I have been to in a long long time. Next to an Asian market where they have literally anything you would want and the restaurant was amazing! Let us take our time ordering because there was so much choice and as the dishes came out one by one both my sister and I were amazed at how much they give you, my favourite by far was the sashimi salad! The best experience

We had a sushi craving that needed satisfying and Hondo did it. Great service, perfect prepared meal, and kinda minimal on the atmosphere but it was very clean and neat. Which who cares about atmosphere, it’s about the food. Great pricing especially on the oysters.

A must go for amazing sushi. I booked it last minute and it didn’t disappoint. Service was great as well as the food. I have always been told that if people from that culture dine at a place it means it’s good. This is true to what we saw. We will definitely be back when are next in Bath!!

Lovely friendly staff, very helpful with descriptions on the menu items. Had pumpkin croquettes, absolutely delicious, had pumpkin gyoza at yo sushi before, these were so much tastier, my daughter had the chicken katsu curry, loved the taste, I had chicken teriyaki, couldn’t manage it all so they offered me a take out box, had a complimentary soup, so basically a 3 course meal with drink for £24. Would definitely go again and recommend.

Sushi was the best I’ve tried – got the crunchy salmon roll and the prawn and avocado roll. Miso soup was so good as well and prawn tempura. Crispy duck bun was okay. Sushi really did stand out!

Great food, good-sized portions and friendly service. However, the table we were seated at was a little dirty (and sticky!). Decor and atmosphere were both bleak. Sadly, it really lacks an aesthetic.
