This is one of the best places to eat in the taos ski valley. Prices were good, food was good and they even had dessert. It seems dessert is hard to find at restaurants here. I got the Reuben and it was amazing. the nachos were ok but it was more of a taco salad on top of a couple chips. The Frito pie was not great, but if you like Frito pie maybe you will like it. We got the chocolate lava cake and it was great all around.

Condominiums. This spot isn’t really advertised, not sure if they are new to the area.
We ordered the Wings and Lamb soup. The wings were a little bit greasy and could have used more lemon on the lemon garlic, tender meat though! The Lamb soup was my favorite of the two, great flavor and not to much spice from the green chile. It was just right!
UPDATE: The next day We ordered the hondo club sandwich and it was delicious! Big sandwich triple stacked, tons of flavors. The fries that come with it are really good too!
I would definitely eat here again given the limited options right now due to COVID. Just gotta adapt to the times and changes.

Do not get the chicken sandwich!!! The bread was soggy, the chicken was indescribable in a terrible way. I have had frozen chicken patties way better than this. The burger was mediocre at best. But they should not be allowed to sell that chicken sandwich!

Was there with a group of family. we all got there about the same time except for 2 ppl who came 5-10 mins after us. we were split between two waiters and 3 tables. when the other two tables ordered there food, my whole table was there as well but we didn’t get to order til abt 10 mins after. the other two tables got their food and finished eating but my table still didn’t have our food at all. it had already been an hour and a half- two hours. the rest of my group in the other two tables had finished eating and was leaving. when we asked the host about it he gave us attitude saying “the food takes about 40 minutes” then we said okay and he proceeded to say “and yall all came 20 minutes late” with an attitude. we waited about another 20 minutes before we got our food. the food was mediocre at best. keep in mind all we ordered was a house salad and a plain and dry cheeseburger. the whole experience overall was not good and i would not recommend to anyone who is actually skiing/snowboarding on the mountain as it wasted a majority of our time for other activities.

Good service and drinks! Everyone complaining seems to have visited when COVID was hitting the hardest. Everywhere is struggling right now with staff issues and Hondo still treated us well. Our waitress was running around serving everyone as quick as possible. I think she was great! The bloody Mary’s were awesome.

There’s a sign at the front that says to please wait to be seated, so that’s what we did. We didn’t receive so much as eye contact from anyone while we stood there for several minutes. Someone who came in after us was almost immediately acknowledged for whatever reason, and she thankfully pointed out that we were there before her. When the hostess (or she might have been a manager) asked “how can I help you?” in such a way as if we were interrupting whatever she was doing, we said we were waiting to be seated. It was at that time we were told they were reservation only for dinner. We were told they had an available time about an hour later. We left and went back to our condo. The hostess/manager woman seemed to criticize us behind our backs to the woman who came in after us as we were walking away for “not planning ahead” (I’m sure she intended for us to hear her based on her attitude and the volume at which she was speaking). The Hondo Restaurant page on the Snakedance website said nothing about reservations being required; only the limited operating days/hours. And they weren’t doing to-go orders at all, which was also not mentioned on the website. Communicating that information to potential customers would be really helpful in allowing them to properly plan ahead, especially so they don’t have to deal with the attitudes of the staff when they’re “inconvenienced” by those customers who don’t realize reservations are required. I’m sure most people don’t have issues with this place, but unfortunately this was a really disappointing experience for us.

Great value, fast service from our bartender/server.
They seemed to close the kitchen early and wouldn’t take our takeout order, leading us to head over to the overpriced 192 at Blake. Really wish they stayed open longer because 192 at the Blake was awful.

A guy who says he is the manager told me and my dad to get out of the restaurant after telling him are last name. He had asked us multiple times for our last name and so the last time we said it loud and slow. He got mad and told us to leave the restaurant. Overall it was terrible service and he should definitely not be a manager if he is. It seemed like he was trying to offend us just so we would walk out. If there was a way to give a zero star review I would.
