The overall cleanliness and decor of this very small town cafe are very good. The service was adequate for this type of restaurant.
The food was lacking in flavor and very bland. It needed some seasoning badly. The Country Fried Steak I ordered was overcooked, had a floury taste, was thin and very dry. It should of had gravy on it but as our waitress told us “we didn’t make any gravy today”. Good thing we didn’t want Biscuits &Gravy.
The menu is a-la-carte so the not so good steak already priced at $14.99 ended up being almost $17.00 once I added some Hash Browns. Toast would have been another $1.50.
My wife’s French Toast looked pretty but also lacked any flavor and you got very “fluid” syrup to put on it.
I would say this is definitely a “locals” type place rather a place expecting anything but that.
One more thing, put the smoking section in the area at the back of the place that has doors that can be closed and is away from the kitchen rather than the non-smoking section.

You know something I have been by this restaurant 100 times or more and never stopped. My mistake nice folks and great food and a atmosphere that puts you at ease. I saw they serve breakfast until 11 am. They have real homemade pies cinnamon rolls and cobbler.
My cousin said him and my aunt used to eat there and it was good and it was. I had unsweetened tea he had sweet tea. I had a double cheese burger and fries man the burger was big . My cousin got black berry cobbler after his meal.
I would highly recommend stopping And having a meal or two with these fine folks you will not be disappointed.

We have drove past many time and finally had a chance to stop. Super cute place. The food was delicious and came out fast and hot. The portions are huge! And prices were great. The waitress and cook were very friendly. We will definitely be back again. Highly recommend!

I’ve been driving by here probably since they first opened and never stopped. From now on this is a stop on my trips through. If you don’t like good home cooking then keep going, I’m stopping! Good food and service period! Thanks Hometown Cafe for feeding me!

Me and 4 other co-workers stopped and had lunch. Over all it was ok. Except for the price. I mean come on $13 for a salad that’s unheard of

I was disappointed with the service from the moment we were seated. Our server immediately pressured us to order, and when I asked for a moment to help my children look at the menu, we were met with a clear attitude of impatience. We felt so unwelcome that we ended up leaving before ordering any food, only having been served water and not even gave a moment to take a drink. It’s a shame, as we were looking forward to eating here.

Great people work here and the food is good. But the health department definitely doesn’t visit this place. There is a big round table when you first walk in the door that all the locals gather at in the mornings and have coffee and smoke cigarettes. The open air kitchen is right next to this table. Many times the smoke is very thick. Obviously there is no health department or this place would be shut down. This makes me suspicious of what other heat violations are going on that aren’t as visible

We go every Sunday I can manage. Such great food and a cool vibe. The waitress and owner both took good care of us. The biscuits are insane!
