This is a great local diner/breakfast spot. We came in on a Sunday morning for breakfast and loved it! Staff was incredibly nice and helpful, and took care of us well through our meal. I had the mushroom/swiss omelette and biscuits and gravy and they were great. Portions were large and reasonably priced. Note: it is cash-only but there’s an ATM down the street.

Generous portions at reasonable prices. The pancakes are bigger than the plate their served on. If you leave hungry, it’s your fault. Biscuits and gravy with 2 eggs is another full plate.

After a VERY long day of driving with my son , before meeting up with family in the countryside of Rio I took him here to eat ..
Only 10.00 cash on me and I was still able to get him a 3 course lunch!! (they even threw in a cookie ) ..The women were amazing …im sure they saw how exsausted I was …but regardless when larger city folks like myself go into smaller diners like these it tends be awkward because every one knows everyone!
But…i was treated like the guy who has been going for 10 years …
Clean, Great food in a timely fashion, good customer service and very affordable. Highly Recommended.

We discovered Hometown Cafe when we moved to Rio in 2010. We have since moved from Rio but still come to enjoy their breakfast.
The staff are always pleasant, the atmosphere is comfortable and the food is great!
