Wait time is always going to be a bit unless you get there early (however, they have their wonderful bakery case at the front so you can stare at their gigantic cinnamon rolls while you wait haha). The staff have been pretty friendly and pleasant to interact with. Their coffee is alright, just your average diner coffee that’s not exactly the greatest but helps wake you up just enough. I will say I was a little more on the cautious side with this last visit just because the one before their creamy was expired; thankfully, I discovered this as I was pouring them into my coffee and didn’t ingest it.
The food was good, The Squatch was something I wanted to try this time around and I appreciated the portion size and flavor. My husband and his brother ordered the Wagon Wheel which they also really enjoyed. Our friend got the Country Mish Mash which looked rather lacking in portion size (he seemed a little disappointed when comparing the amount to the price), but otherwise he said it was good.
This place is great to return to if you stick with the items you’re already familiar with and know will be good. I’m certain we’ll return again in the future!
Would recommend would return.
Today was my first day eating breakfast here, with a friend and my youngest.
The country fried steak breakfast was as good as I was expecting. Better than most places in the area, but I would not say it exceed my expectations.
However, after finishing the onion rings, I cut into my sandwich and discovered a moth underneath the first piece. My husband noticed my frustration and waved over the manager. She came to our table and was very apologetic, mentioning that in her six years at the restaurant, she had never seen anything like this. While I appreciate her response and the fact that she waived our meals, the incident left me feeling disappointed and hungry.
This experience raised serious concerns about food safety and hygiene. I will no longer go back to this place.
I went ,very excited to try the breakfast it seemed a little pricey but from the description – it would be worth it. I ordered the chicken fried steak & eggs over fry bread I think it was called the Squash? It look so amazing but…. Zero Flavor Zero .
This restaurant is stuck in the 50’s in more ways than one..their little displays on the walls of each table play snippets of The Little Rascals..[racist scenes]..John Wayne..[racist deceased actor]. This was offputting. Wait person was far from friendly & warm..but the real downside was as follows:
1. Still using melmine (plastic) dinnerwear.
2. Coffee served in plastic carafes . I looked to see if there was glass lining these carafes, but I just saw dark, unreflective, so I believe they were NOT glass lined.
So..if these issues were corrected (healthwise–come into the current Century) I would consider returning, but not as I found it. So, I would not return. Wait staff could use a “learn to welcome ALL guests PROPERLY” refresher.
