First time trying HomeState. At first I thought the quantity was small for the price when I received them wrapped in foil, but once I opened them up, I realized they were deceptively dense. I ordered the Vaquero tacos and Summer Tea. They didn’t skimp on the brisket in the tacos. The meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Their red and green salsa complimented the tacos with a little bite that wasn’t overpowering. The Summer Tea was light, sweet, and refreshing. Definitely worth a try!

Taco tortillas were cold. What’s up with that? Why would anyone make tacos with cold tortillas? Had the brisket tacos which were good, but could have been a lot better if they weren’t so cold.

I was kind of disappointed because the tacos were barely warm when I got them. The cheese was cold and not melted 🙁 But it’s a very cute place and I will try again!

Tortillas will mold in a day.
Manager was nonplussed …
Stick with the Highland Park or Los Feliz locations.

Great tacos. Love the homemade flour tortillas, soft and lil chewy, perfectly done. Savory birria, tender chicken.

Service was top notch. My boyfriend and I met while living in Austin, TX and this place scratched our itch! They even gave us some free queso!

This place has been my staple for six years or more. I used to go to the Los Feliz location, but because Atwater is now closer to my house and I noticed the portion sizes were going down, I moved over to Atwater. The portion sizes returned, and that feeling like you always felt like someone you knew was making the tacos came back. Sadly, however the portion sizes have gone down dramatically in Atwater in the last few weeks. The tacos are maybe a half of the size of what they used to be. I really hope this isn’t a trend that staying with HomeState. They’re such a great location and I hate to have to try to find another place.

The flour tortillas are sooooo delicious here. There are a few of these around Los Angeles and they are always consistent and busy.

It’s been such a game-changer having Homestate in Atwater! The quality is always consistent and the tacos always tasty. The prices aren’t bad for such well-rounded recipes, just one of their tacos makes a nice light lunch and a few are a great meal. I’m a big fan of the Emos, warm black bean on a chilly day is sooo good. Staff always friendly too.
