After driving by for a few years, I decided to treat myself for my birthday dinner. The food was impeccable. I ordered Crawfish Bisque to start, one of their nightly specials (Linguine in mascarpone citrus sauce with sautéed oysters, shrimp, and andouille sausage), a side of their vegetable of the night (garlic and herbed green beans), and their dessert of the night (flourless chocolate torte ala mode with blueberries). I would gladly recommend everything I ate and eat it all over again myself. It was delicious! Service was prompt and polite. My server was spot on and very kind. They had live music that evening as well (The Celtic Session) that was tasteful and not loud to the point of being able to talk. My food, plus two cocktails, and tip totaled to over $100 for me alone. That makes it a special occasion restaurant for me, but I would definitely eat there more often if finances permitted.

*Also a heads up: If live music is going on, there will be a $5 cover charge on your bill.

Absolutely AMAZING meal. Best Chef ever! To start, the crispy brussel sprouts were indeed crispy, with a sweetness from the fig, a strong bite from the blue cheese, then a surprise salty something that I just don’t know what but wanted more of. We had the orange honey butter duck with peppery butternut squash and roasted asparagus. It. Was. To. Die. For. Many people think duck might be greasy. Well, not by this Chef! The meal was perfect! So savory! And just the right portion to leave you satisfied, but enough room for dessert. So of course we indulged with the bourbon praline bread pudding for dessert. This was the comforting finish to complete this meal. Warm, custardy, with just enough sweetness. We enjoyed the night, listening to some wonderful live jazz. Our wait staff was prompt and pleasant, and the atmosphere was a traditional style yet unique Tavern. Full of so much charm. Everyone should experience this gem surprisingly found in the little town of Searsport!

My partner and I had an amazing time dining with the Homeport Tavern. As walked in we were quickly welcomed by our waitress and the amazing owner, Arnaud.

The music was perfect and just the right volume to hear my partner and our waitress.

Started out with freshly battered onion rings washed down with some ice cold margaritas with a sugar rim. After that we split a grilled chicken caesar salad with steak that was cooked to perfection by the fantastic chef who always brings 1000% to his kitchen and guests he serves.

Finally (if you are still reading this review) we ended with a slice of cheese cake!

Overall, this place is a full experience that you need to partake in when visiting Searsport, Maine.

What a great stop we happened in by chance as we passed it on Hwy 1 in Searsport, Maine. We sat at the bar and Arno took care of us. We got a history lesson of the restaurant and Inn. We were cold and had hot Toddy’s and gumbo and seafood bisque. It was delicious.
Find and stop at this place. Such a gem!!! Ann & Rick

My partner and I drove from Pennsylvania to see Acadia. The entire trip has kinda been a blunder. Until we came across this place on a last minute turn in for some food on the way back home. Not only was the welcome warm and friendly. But the food was amazing and the atmosphere was clean and cozy. If I come back to Maine it will just to visit here again.

Despite the manager ‘s claim, there was no sign on the door declaring a cover charge for the music. The sign at the road indicated live music but was obscured by foliage – we saw it as we left. It did not indicate a cover charge. The music at the bar was so loud that in the adjoining dining room the waitress couldn’t accurately hear the orders. Big difference between medium rare and well done. Due to the amount of time it took to get the food to begin with, it was not sent back. To talk at the table we nearly yelled at each other. Several requests were made to lower the volume. They did close half of the entry to the dining room which helped slightly. The waitress was doing her best but they were understaffed. The gumbo was good but would not recommend if you don’t want to leave with a headache. Note: Curtains or something similar to absorb some of the sound would help. We were not told about the cover charge when reserving the table and it is not indicated on the website

We arrived at 7pm. Ordered apps, dinner and drinks which arrived by 730. Our cocktails then stayed empty for more than 30 minutes and our dirty dishes stayed on our table as our server Meredith never once stopped by our table. I found her chatting at the soda station and asked for some drinks. Which took another 10 minutes to arrive. An additional 30 minutes went by without Meredith or food. I again got up to find Meredith, again, chatting and asked about the food. She informed the kitchen was behind. It would have been a good idea to have informed us prior to 90 minutes later when i had to find her. We did not receive our food until 845. It was delicious. The whole experience would have been easier if our server had spent less time chatting with coworkers and more time visiting patrons. We will not return.

WOW! What a meal. One of my mom’s favorite places so we had to go. Wednesday evening we walked in with live Irish music. What a scene. Fantastic cod with gnocchi and fish and chips. Homemade key lime pie to die for. My mom has also raved about the bed and breakfast stairs – give it a try!

My wife and I have been to Homeport Tavern a few times, the food and service have been consistently very good each visit, we love the atmosphere as well. The Owner made it a point to introduce himself and his wife to us, they are both very nice and interesting people. The live music often is great! This place is becoming one of our favorites in the area, we will be back soon!
