This Restaurant is in the heart of my hometown. Opa-Locka. It is physically just a structure. It is Take-out only. But you will be taking out pur goodness. Home Style is all about their food. No bells, No whistles, No frills….just pure soulful goodness.

The food is average. The macaroni and cheese tasted like collard greens with a tang and to much pepper. The green beans seemed canned. I only went for chitterlings for family members. I wouldn’t go back.

Every time that I go, it’s what I expect. That is some good food for a good price. No one ever said this was the place of spectacular southern hospitality, just that they provide food. I mind my business, get what I need, fill my belly, and have a good day. I have never been met with a nasty attitude because I don’t go there looking for people to be overly cheerful and friendly. I respect them, they respect me, I get my food, and I’m out. Imma keep going there for breakfast because I like it and because they’re black.

The food is just ok. It’s average. The order takers can use more patience and get a little more professional.10/26/25.Aftee going away for years. The food has improved. I think it’s different cooks throughout the week, the food taste different depending on the day. Also the ribs are sometimes tender, which I only had one time of it being tender. Next time day back to normal.

Food is ok. It’s the young lady whom answered the phone and took my order when I got there that was just disgusting. Her attitude is ugly. Unfortunately people go through things and has no idea how to separate personal n professional situation. Or your just whom you are. At the end of the day business owners wonder why their business falls, rises slowly or just stay put … It’s whom you allow to be a part of that. Customer service is key and unfortunately this black owned business cares less. Big supporter to ONLY those that actually care. Sorry second and last time I’ll go there. Only second time because I wanted to see if it may have been just that prior individual, but it’s not.

I like the bbq there it has a certain taste to it that is almost magical. And when I did experience there Banana pudding I was addicted after only one taste but sadly they don’t have it all the time or when I do have the money for it. Overall the service is very warmly those cute smiles and its always on time. Truly out of all the places I’ve been for bbq no other place can match there’s not even the place I used to go to before them. Hopefully in 2013 they have more because lately I’ve been craving it but don’t know if I should call in and be disappointed to hear no we don’t have any. The best food to spend your money on.

My experience here was 10/10. My food was so flavorful and delicious. I got chitterlings, white rice, Mac and cheese, yams, and green beans. I would definitely recommend.

Love it! Best bbq place just wish they had banana pudding. “Update” If you love BBQ this is the place to go, if you’re into Chitlins also the place to go to, this is as southern as they get when it comes to soul food. As I stated in my old review I wish they continued to make Banana Pudding. That is what elevated them over the others, otherwise this is still a great place to eat from if you have the taste for that good ol southern food.
