The food here for us was very tasty! The problem was only, and I repeat, the cocktail sauce was so hot and burned all the way down! My husband and I enjoyed this food to the fullest! We both just have very bad reflux so we must remember to ask next time! Our bad on that! Enjoy yourself and the food with pleasure! Also very quiet calming place for a Friday evening! 🙂

Horrible!!! Avoid this place! I ordered two items and they were both inedible. Who can screw up potato skins? This hellhole can! No amount of sour cream will revive these over-microwaved disasters. I was told there would be four, but since the three I recieved are not safe for my dog to eat, it doesn’t matter. They are dried out, hollowed out, burnt potatoes which topped with fake looking cheese that appears to have a half life longer than a Twinkie. The skins were definitely deep fried because you can smell the fish on them – they clearly use the same oil for everything!

I immediately threw away the crab cakes in the lobby garbage can, not realizing the potato skins were going to just as bad. The crab cakes were a 1/4″ thick, including the heavy breading. Thus, there was just enough cran to make the breading stick but not enough to even notice the crab. They were thickly breaded potato chips. I doubted they were crab, but could visibly see part of a claw shell in the breading so it was actually the smallest amount of crab possible.

I will not be coming back my next two nights here. I will not come back ever again and I hope you do not waste your money here like I did.

Kinda sad no escargot, apparently hasn’t been any in over 3 years but still on everything (website, app menu, regular menu) crab cakes where delicious lots of big chunk of crab not tons of breadcrumbs. Chowder was decent, prime rib was good I ordered rare and got mostly well but was still tasty. Combo fry was not great, the scallops and oysters came out very soggy. But the scallops where not overcooked at all. So just flicked off breading. Pirate Alfredo was good but crab gets kind of lost in the sauce. Mel was a fun and wonderful servicer! I hope she has a wonderful retirement.

Horrible experience, if I could give zero stars I would. 20 minutes just to sit after we called and they said no wait., 20 minutes to get drink and food ordered then another 20 to get anything to drink or eat. When food was brought out(pirate fettuccine) The fishy smell was so overwhelming it made me gag, all of us smelled it immediately. Rotten shrimp or crab or both. Prime rib was tough not even asked how I wanted it. They said they took Fettuccine off Bill, but somehow we still paid 91$ for prime rib 31$, cup of chowder 8$, steak fries14$, 2 drinks. Manager was rude about it then charged us this much? We will NEVER go back.

Negative 5 stars. Tried to get some breakfast at the Home Port Restaurant about 9:45 am today (2/15/2026). Sadly, the experience was horrible. We were seated (2 of us) shortly after walking in. The woman who seated us asked what we would like to drink. 1 decaf coffee and 2 waters. 4-5 minutes later 4 new customers were seated. Same thing, she asked their drink order. 2 items from the lounge and 1 coffee and waters. She gets their water and coffee quickly. We still have no water or coffee 9 minutes later. A different woman after a total of 16 minutes after being seated comes to us and asks what we would like to drink. We advise her the other woman took our drink order, but never brought us anything. She apologized, then said she would get them right away. As she’s getting our water and coffee (which takes about 3-4 minutes), a male employee takes the order for the 4 people who arrived after us. The “hostess” we presume who originally took our drink order is just walking back and forth and doing this or that. After getting our drinks the waitress then takes our order. So, now we wait. The coffee cups are small and the coffee needs to be refilled. The hostess walked by our table once and says nothing. 4 or so minutes later she walks by a second time looks right at me and snubs me. Nothing said, just an outright eye contact then put her nose in the air and kept walking. No offer of refilling the coffee, no indication that we exist. 6 minutes later, the 4 customers at the table get their food and are now enjoying their meal. We know and understand that now this restaurant and staff do not want to properly serve or make money from us. My boyfriend gets up with his empty coffee cup and stands at the opening of the small area where the coffee is kept. The male employee comes and he asks for a coffee refill. He advises that he will bring it right away. After finally getting a coffee refill, I look at my boyfriend and tell him we should just go. This restaurant and the employees have made it clear they don’t need our business. 28 minutes after being seated, we rise and we knock on the swaying door to the kitchen area so we can hand over enough money for the coffee and waters. We can hear the male employee telling the others behind the door that we are upset and rude. We look around and there are no employees on the floor. I knock again. The male employee hears the knock and peeks out. We inform him we are leaving and to cancel the food. He was handed a $10 bill. Enjoy the $10 for the 2 tiny cups of decaf and 2 glasses of water. I can’t say for sure if my boyfriend being asian had anything to do with it or not, but all the Caucasian people were served and weren’t waiting for basic items like water and a cup of coffee. Also…. tell your employee to take off her coat while she’s working. It gives a horrible look and is just a crappy overall appearance for someone working in a hostess type position. Buy her a nice sweater for goodness sake. Never, ever go to this restaurant. They don’t really want your business.

Please drive by. Saddest experience ever. The seafood platter was a deep fried mess. The salad and chowder were the only good things. Even the crackers were stale. Our waitress thought she was working at Dick’s Last Resort. Never got checked on after food was dropped off. Waited 20 minutes to get the check. Just horrible.

We came here to get breakfast at around 10am since its the only restaurant in town that isn’t busy. we just wanted some coffee and old fashioned breakfast.
There were only a few tables that were occupied, and yet we waited 20 minutes just to get our drink order. The waitress have walked passed us at least 5 times and made no effort to help us.
one other server came and finally asked if we needed anything and we requested to get our drinks. Drinks came a few minutes after, but then have forgotten about us again. I had to get up and flag down someone just to get a refill on my coffee.
at this point we just left and gave them some money to pay for the coffee i drank.
frustrated as i was, we just left.

Some friends and I stopped in at Home Port restaurant to have our last dinner in Ocean Shores for 2024.

I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was excellent! The chicken was large, juicy, perfectly cooked and the breading was almost nonexistent. It was served with broccoli and cauliflower and garlic Texas Toast.

The meal also included a house salad that had greens, copious sliced black olives, a tomato wedge, beet slices, and a large assortment of dressing to choose from!

My only complaint would have been the toast had the consistency of non-toasted bread. Disappointing. However, the meal was excellent and I was very pleased with my selection and Home Port’s preparation.

The staff was very professional and helpful.

One word of warning: as of this review, the cooks were new and their production was very slow. Be prepared to wait for a table, but the wait was definitely worth it.

I told the server to her face I will never be back . I had water spilt on me and no one came to give me any towel. Then I never got water. I ordered a shot and had to wait 35 minutes for it. And then ordered a milk for my daughter same . Then I ordered a second shot and never got it. So cute. And my man sent back his prime rib cause it was mooing and for it being a 30 $ item they thought giving me bloody fries was okay . Very aweful service. Aweful . I give it negative
