This place has gone downhill bad. We have gone here for 7 years since moving out to Stewartsville. Updated 8-4-24
I would have given you the exact date and time, BUT you waited over 3 months to respond. And I did call to complain day of and was told “we’re busy, can’t please everyone” I get it, quantity over quality. Ice cream 4 miles down the road at the chuckling cow is way better anyway, and I can get crappy food with crappy service anywhere. Appreciate you making time months later for a response. Adds to the credibility of the review. Take care!
Don’t bother anymore, not even worth the wait after the new ownership. I gave it a second shot for food after being terribly disappointed a month ago by a chicken nugget meal for my kids that was hardly cooked. Today we got fries and hot dogs and the fries were basically a lump of uncooked mashed potatoes in a platter, and the hot dogs were shriveled overcooked. Sad.

Really great ice cream and some nice sitting venues around back that you might not see as you drive by. Some of the best ice cream in the area! Service is always prompt and orders are ready very quickly. We have not tried the cooked food but the burgers do look tempting…

I’ve driven past Home Plate Dairy for the past year and a half. I finally decided to stop in and try the black raspberry soft serve. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The small cup was reasonably priced and more than enough for an afternoon treat. The black raspberry soft soft serve stood out as a light refreshing flavor for a hot day. I enjoyed it but would have liked a little more strength of the flavor throughout the ice cream. I felt like I hit patches where the color was there just not the flavor.
I will definitely stop by again to either try it again or try something new!

Our fave duo: brownie Sundae and banana split! Their black raspberry soft ice cream is to die for. So creamy and so tasty! They have regular ice cream, soft serves, kids icees and also savory food. I always go there for the ice cream but hubby had cheesesteak, his dog and fries and he liked it. They just open for the season so enjoy while you can!!!

Classic style family ice cream shop, plus food too. Family had ice cream, which is very rich and large portions. I had my first soda float in 45 years — damn it was good, root beer with vanilla ice cream, WOW. Nice place, nice friendly staff, and picnic tables on the hill behind the shop to sit.

New favorite ice cream spot! the lemon bar and the jolted cow ice cream were just perfection. It looks like they had a good selection of other food items at really good prices, so next time I visit I’ll be sure to try a bit of their menu too if it’s anywhere near as good as their ice cream!

overpriced for cheap ice cream. what happened to the quality? $12.00 for 2 dish ice cream which we did not eat. threw away and gave some to our dog. did not have soft ice cream so we had to settle on store bought cheap artificial ice cream at the site. no soft welsh farms here! terrible.. will not be back. if someone says this is good, ice cream they have no taste quality to do a review. overpriced and poor quality
