Amazing tasting food. It’s tucked away in the business park but it’s well worth the look. Extremely busy with delivery orders and you’ll see drivers coming and going but that didn’t affect my order, service or wait time. I was served quickly. I ordered the brisket loaded fries and the Ol Smash burger. No complaints. Delicious. Will definitely come again.

Let me start by saying the guys serving at the till are top lads, helped us with our order and even suggested the perfect portion for us. The smoked ribs were by far the best I’ve had – juicy fatty and smoky. The brisket loaded fries were my favourite, the sweet and hot red chilli on top really made it for me. Each and every item individually was perfect – the fries, the brisket, the rib, the bbq sauce, even the pickles & chilli. I will most definitely be going back for more.

Holy Smokes BBQ – A Hidden Gem in Bow Triangle, E3
Tucked away in the corner of the Bow Triangle Business Centre on Eleanor Street (Unit 26, E3 4UR), Holy Smokes BBQ is one of those places that you’d easily miss if you didn’t know to look for it. Nestled in an industrial business park, it has that authentic, no-frills vibe — not much glamour from the outside, just a spot that clearly prioritizes the food over fancy surroundings. But once you step in (or order in), it’s clear why it’s gained such a loyal following, especially among halal BBQ and burger fans in East London.
A group of three of us visited recently, and we went straight for their smash burger lineup and loaded sides — and wow, they delivered.
I ordered the OG Smash Burger — classic smashed beef patties with that perfect crispy edge, melty American cheese, and all the right fixings. It hit every note you want from a smash: juicy, flavorful, and satisfying without being overly complicated. Highly recommended if you’re after a solid, no-nonsense burger.
My mates went for the Chilli Smash (a spicier kick with some serious heat that builds nicely) and their Rosemary and Thyme Fries — those herby, fragrant fries were a standout side, crispy and aromatic, a nice change from the usual.
We also shared the Dirty Fries, and these were next-level indulgent. Crunchy salted fries topped with smashed minced beef patty, cheese, pickles, and their signature coffee BBQ sauce — but the real winner was the rich gravy oozing at the bottom. It soaked into everything and added this deep, savory layer that made every bite addictive. Total comfort food heaven.
To wash it all down, we grabbed some Rubicon fruit sparkling drinks — the usual suspects like mango or passion fruit — which were perfectly refreshing and cut through all that richness.
The whole experience was great: generous portions, bold smoky flavors (they do proper low-and-slow halal BBQ here), and everything tasted fresh and made with care. It’s not a fancy sit-down spot — more of a takeaway-focused gem with a few tables — but that just adds to the charm. If you’re in East London and craving quality smash burgers, loaded fries, or their famous smoked brisket/ribs, make the detour to this tucked-away spot. It’s worth it.

Hidden location, but unbeatable flavors — Holy Smokes is a proper East London find!

Slow and cold food. Needed to air fry everything. I had two bogof burgers but they were definitely way too small so it was just the right price for a small burger (kids meal size). The chips are also so small and short- I wouldn’t consider these as fries, more like potato stubs.

We recently visited Holy Smokes BBQ in London and had a great experience. The place has a relaxed, welcoming vibe with that classic smokehouse feel. The menu is focused on hearty barbecue staples, and the portions are generous. The brisket was tender and flavorful with a nice smoke ring, and the ribs were well-seasoned without being overpowering. Sides like mac and cheese and cornbread balanced things out nicely. Service was friendly and attentive without being pushy. Overall, it’s a solid spot if you’re craving authentic barbecue in London and want a laid-back meal with plenty of flavor.

A bit expensive but the food was really good. Friendly staffs. Unusual place but good for a change. Burgers were a bit over priced but good quality. Over all good and a new experience. Only I wish everything was couple of pound cheaper.
Recommend it if you are a meat lover.

Absolutely incredible food, we went here for my friend’s birthday! And what a choice it was, we all enjoyed the food, the vibes and the people. Was a great spot, tucked away in the middle of nowhere. Food was so tasty and for a really fair price, considering its in London.

Very good, will return again. They clearly do most of their business through delivery apps and therefore there isn’t much seating available and it’s in the middle of nowhere. The short rib was the stand out but I was a little disappointed in the brisket loaded fries – brisket not the best and a bit dry. I might have missed this on the menu but it might explain why they don’t do brisket on its own. Would like to see them offer bbq trays
