My amazing wife and I visit this place and thought this was a cute small space. The food was good it was the service that was a bit pushy as we were new and just checking out the menu first and our waitress seems to not give us enough time to check as it felt every 3 minutes. We finally got our dishes and it turned out okay.

My Go-To Lunch Spot for the past 7 Years!

I can’t say enough good things about Holy Land Cafe. I’ve been coming here for the past seven years, and it’s hands down my favorite place to eat lunch in all of Kansas City. If you’re looking for an incredible, affordable, and quick lunch, this is your spot.
Their lunch specials are extremely well-priced and consistently delicious. I always, and I mean always, get the #1. It’s a perfect combination of flavors and always hits the spot. You really can’t go wrong with any of their specials, though.
Beyond the amazing food, the service is a huge reason I keep coming back. It’s always very fast and efficient, which is perfect for a lunch break. The staff is consistently good, making every visit a pleasant one.

This was out first time here and I have to say it was a great experience. The tabouli was so fresh!! The chicken biryani and the steak gyro was also excellent. Great value for your money. Will for sure be back!!

The pita with rice felt a bit too heavy on the carbs for me — overall, just average in taste. Maybe I’ll try something different next time. Prices were reasonable though.

We were so hungry when we arrived at Holy Land Cafe. It was late afternoon noon on one of our BRISK winter days. We walked in the door and or welcomed with the aroma of wonderful food coming from the kitchen. We chose to sit in a booth not too far from the entrance. The staff attended to us almost immediately. My husband ordered the garlic chicken dinner and I ordered the falafel sandwich. We both had the lentil soup as the accompaniment to our meal. The soup was served quickly, it was hot and delicious. Just what we needed to warm ourselves up. The food was served very quickly, And it was also delicious. My husband’s meal I believe cost $15, And it was a substantial portion of food. The chunks if chicken breast were covered in a garlic and cream sauce I believe with maybe saffron in it, Served with rice, veggies ,and Pita bread. My falafel sandwich was amazing as well. There are 3 things that I judge mediterranean restaurants on one is their hummus the other is their falafel and the third is their pita bread. I combined all 3 things in my sandwich, And I was not disappointed. We couldn’t believe we had never been to this restaurant before and we certainly will make sure that we return again. As we were paying for our meal we decided to get the pistachio baklava. They have several varieties of baklava and the pistachio one was a hit. Looking forward to trying the other varieties on another visit.

I ordered the sun dried tomato on my first visit and it was so good that it’s all I order. My wife had a taste once and now that’s all that she orders. LOL The lentil soup is smooth, creamy and tasty.

I like the Gyro plate a lot. Each cut was thick and juicy, and grilled with a caramelized exterior. The accompanying yogurt sauce was light and refreshing, cutting through the grease very well.

The falafel was a bit hard, but once I bit it open, it was tender inside and very delicious. The Tahini sauce was a bit too watery, that I could taste nothing of Tahini when I ate the falafel dipped in the sauce — I ended up dipping the falafel in the yogurt sauce.

Because the entree also came with a soup or salad, for the price of it, I’m not complaining. The falafel was a bit of a letdown, though, because of the Tahini sauce.

I also stopped by the other day for a quick lunch and had a kefta sandwich. The sandwich was a bit small, but it was delicious, only 10 dollars and came with a side, so again, no complaints from me,

Service was very casual, befitting of the family shop environment, and good for a workday meal.

First time eating here and it’s like really really good compared to other Mediterranean food that I have had around KC. The hummus with the food was some of the best I have ever had. I have also been to the UK, and had Doner Kebab there at a chippy and the Gyro meat here is very similar to that. Definitely recommend this place over places like Mr Gyro.
