A small out-of-the-way place, the Hole in the Wall Restaurant was created to provide an intimate place to dine with friends and family over great World Fusion food and a glass of wine. Food is prepared with care and lovingly presented to inspire the wow. While our food is a world fusion of flavours, once a month we adventure around the world with geographically-specific menu expeditions, where Chef prepares a special selection of foods inspired by the chosen destination country/area.

This was a Saturday night and they were sold out.
My wife ordered the seafood chowder and I ordered the pulled roast beef and garlic potatoes…
This was the first time my wife had mussels and the ball were served very hot and every ingredient was absolutely fantastic and she gave it a 10 out of 10… there was scallops, clams and a tiny bit of lobster…
I was watching her eat that bowl of seafood and I can tell by her face that she loved every single bit of it.
My roast beef had big chunks inside the bun and the garlic potatoes were fantastic.
She also had a side ceasar salad that was absolutely as fresh as you can get…
I leave lots of reviews on all the restaurants that I have eaten at all over Canada and if there is something wrong I would definitely say so but I would say this was 10 outta 10…
Thank you to the girls that were extremely busy with a Full House of customers on a Saturday night…
We ordered:
– cauliflower and Gruyère cheese soup (3/10) – no flavour and no salt at all. Once we added salt, it was somewhat better and I’m not one for enjoying much salt on my food, but this was bland as bland could get. Same to be said about the biscuit that came with it. The biscuit had so much potential – great texture, but unfortunately lacking flavour.
– butter chicken (7/10) – the butter chicken was really good and came with both rice and naan. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the dish was seasoned well. The rice had no flavour (although I know that I need to mix the rice and butter chicken together) and was chunky – no oil or butter to keep it separated. It came all on one dish, rice on one half, butter chicken the other. The naan was good (seemed store bought) but 1 piece was buttered nicely and the rest were smothered in butter – almost dripping. Overly garlicky, too.
– lemon ricotta linguine (7/10) – really good flavour and came with a good amount of shrimp – all cooked well. It came with a side of garlic baguette (toasted) and it had the same butter/garlic on it that my naan had by the looks of it, but it had no flavour to it – no salt and no garlic. The dish came with a slice of lemon that had 6 seeds in it – I think the least they could do is give a lemon wedge without pits so I could actually be used on the dish.
We had all the above plus 2 non-alcoholic drinks and our bill was $75 before tip. We also both had leftovers to take home, keep in mind.
(Note – The Beef Bolognese was so delicious I had it again a few nights ago for dinner and it unfortunately was nothing like the dish I had in these pictures, hopefully it was a one-off and they remain consistent going forward).
I ordered candied bacon goat cheese started – it was amazing. Yum!! I could have had two orders alone of it. The buttery garlic sour dough bread smothered with whipped goat cheese and bacon??!! How could that be bad. I would go back just to eat that again.
My main dish was a grilled hot honey goat cheese sandwhich and roasted potatoes. I made a mistake – I thought hot honey meant that … literally. Hot honey. No, it was honey infused with hot chilli flakes. That was my mistake. So I could only eat half of the sandwhich – my gut could not handle the heat. Tasty though!
I had hoped the mains would have more options – as there were online, for lunch, I did not find a lot of yummy options for myself.
All in all
Great food. Great location. AMAZING service.
My husband and I were here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon when driving through Windsor. We loved each thing we ordered and shared. Had two glasses and a reusable glass bottle of cold water, that was exchanged when we finished the first. Fast service and attentive.
I started with a café amaretto and we shared the lobster dip. It came with salted rice crackers and delicious bread. I asked about the salmon eggs Benedict if there was a chance I could get it dressed more as their salmon crepe (adding cream cheese) and it was amazing. My husband got the pesto chicken sandwich and they offered the full and it was also a great choice! I love pesto and it had such a nice soft, smoky taste from the bacon. Both our dishes came with the potatoes and those were so good. Excellently seasoned and needed nothing else.
We did have another order delivered to our table by another server who made a small mistake, but they were quick to fix it and everything was well timed. I would recommend this place, it is kid friendly and they have a nice little patio too!
The bad: I didn’t point this out to the wait staff as to upset them, but it seemed like we were constantly ignored or forgotten. Every party who came in after us got quick and enthusiastic attention, but we waited exceedingly long for each stage of the service compared to everyone else. The hostess stepped in to take our dessert order, which I thought was odd. I just can’t understand why we were singled out for sub-par service while everyone else had great service. I couldn’t overlook it for this review.
