Parking is free and readily available but did not see a valet which usually such a nice golf course should have available. Entering the building it seems a bit outdated (ala 1970’s) but very nostalgic, something I can appreciate.
Hole 19 is on the right as you enter the lobby. It’s a mid-size open space and has a “sports bar” type feeling, which appeals to me and my group of family & friends. This appears to be a hot spot for the local Miami Springs over 50+ crowd and there were two other birthday party’s going on simultaneously.
Food was very good! Chicken tenders were real chicken breast in a lite batter. Burger sliders were perfect, just wish they had onions, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles as a side option. The fries were good, but a little too much truffle oil for my taste. I was the designated driver, so only club soda but everyone else said the drinks were very good; mojito, wines and single malts were the real deal and not watered down or switched with generic well-drinks.
Service was good, although due to the number of people at the parties (75+), an additional 2-3 staffers would have made things a little more efficient. I did notice that they would take your same glass and bring the same one back as re-fill? I found this a little strange, as I am used to getting a new glass every time it leaves the table and goes back to the bar/kitchen.
It was 80′ disco night, but this is where I had an issue! I grew up in Miami and frequented all the hot clubs back in the day; Club 1235, Back Streets, Strawberries, Zigfields, Susan in the Grove… so I know what the music scene was back then, because I lived it! The DJ fell way short of properly mixing and playing relevant artist & music of that era. A family member sitting at my table is a former DJ from back in the day, Casanovas and Renaissance… he kept telling me the technical jargon of what was going on, but all I knew was as one good song would start to play (i.e., Lime or Taffy) and I was getting up to dance, the DJ would put on Prince 1999? Finally, the music was WAY TOO LOUD for this venue! The acoustics did not travel well and revibrated from the large glass pane windows. My ears were ringing the following day!
All in all, I had a wonderful time and Hole 19 is a great place to go meet older people and reminisce about Miami in the 70-80’s and a different time when we were all young, wild and free. LOL It is also a great place to have a good meal and drink while you relax and enjoy the scenery.
