Went august 4 2023.Was very disappointed. Was out of some sides. Chicken livers were not as good as usual.Slaw was awful.Waitress said it is according to who makes it.floors sticky bad. Chairs & shoes sticking to floors bad. Bathroom stinks at times like sewage the chicken stew okra, and hush puppies were good. Seems as if they are letting it go. I know there’s no one was there but us. Think I will not go back again and less I hear that it has improved.

My first time. Get the Chicken Stew, my friends!!! The fried mushrooms app was yummy, too. The slaw was good but be warned that it is HEAVILY peppered. I ain’t hating it, though! Little concerned about their cleanliness… our shoes stuck to the floor.

My little group an I had dinner here this afternoon. There were some good things and several unforgivable things about our visit. The good first: the chicken stew is to literally die for! It’s the best that I’ve ever had! The fries were cooked to perfection! Now the bad: in my entire lifetime, I’ve never seen more dirty food covered floors anywhere! I’ll guarantee you that they haven’t been visited by a vac. all day long ! The girls who took our order were not interested in our being there. They could have cared less about us ! My daughter got a BBQ plate with ice cold BBQ. I tasted it ! I had to have come straight from the refrigerator to her plate ! I got four drinks 2.00 each ! The charge is the same for ice water or any beverage. Most places do not up charge for water! The restaurant was not at all busy so I’m having a problem understanding some of this! I can only recommend this place to get chicken stew to go !

What a 4th of July meal my family had. Take out barbecue and hash, oh, they forgot to mention big green flys were included. Yeah, there was 2 of the biggest nastiest flys right in that over priced cup of ?????? that cost way too much. Will never eat from there again.

The chicken stew was as always wonderful,full of chicken. The hushpuppies are a great side item with the stew. Also just for measure we had the chicken salad,perfect. Oh yea,they have always made sure that take out orders do have enough crackers. The only negative,the hash was very salty.

The Best Chicken Stew that you didn’t have to brew!! Very consistent taste and plenty of Chicken in soup, plenty of crackers given to eat. Quick, friendly order by phone $$ reasonably Prised. Itza really good and they know it, but its worth it at least 2 a month in the Winter… Very Clean and Open!

We have four kids that are 11 and under. We took them here for the first time today. Jeff Hodges owns the place. He was a very friendly and kind. He spoke to us about how he had been working there for over two decades now. The food we had was excellent. Of all of our kids were very happy with their meals. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something to eat in a family friendly environment.
