The food here was honestly very good. The flavors were rich and well balanced, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The seafood paella was especially impressive — generous portions and full of flavor. Definitely a place I would come back to just for the food.
The only downside was the service. The staff seemed quite busy, and it took a while for someone to check on us. It didn’t ruin the experience, but a little more attention would have made it perfect.
Overall, great food and nice atmosphere — just be patient if it’s a busy

Our dinner here was absolutely amazing. To start off, we were immediately greeted by Antonio, who was extremely sweet. He showed us around after telling him it was our first time, and he made us feel so welcomed. We ordered several plates to share — baked cheese, tuna tartare, ceviche, rum glazed pork belly, pinchos de carne, 3 leches, and bread pudding — each one was absolutely incredible (I would skip the ceviche though). The baked cheese and glazed pork belly are a MUST. The prices are also very reasonable, each small plate is like $10. We will 100% be back!!!

We were there celebrating my friend’s birthday. Whatever we ordered tasted so good. I will be back for more paella, beef steak on the stick with chimichurri, mussels and Shrimp with red sauce. The Sangria we ordered tasted like grape juice and potent. All of us got a little bit tipsy, just a little bit..LOL
Nicely decorated and service was quick and effective.
The dessert we ordered was the chocolate truffle with bitter after taste which is complete our tapas like a grand finale.

The Spanish paella was very good and generously loaded with seafood, which we really enjoyed.
The grilled beef skewers, however, were a bit on the tough side and not as tender as expected. The octopus was well seasoned and flavorful, but unfortunately it didn’t taste as fresh as it should have.
Overall, there were some standout dishes, but also a few areas that could be improved—still a solid dining experience.

The overall experience was exceptional and I’m happy to say I have been to Hola’s and I highly recommend the sangria, tapas and paella. The staff was cheerful and very cordial, nice surroundings, small local establishment with downtown San Antonio charm, parking available, walking distance to historic places like La Villita, Hemisfair park and tower.

This restaurant has some unique food that causes us to come back. We had a small gathering of friends to enjoy our evening. The food was delicious as well as the fruity wine. Nice atmosphere and interesting artwork hanging on the walls.

Amazing find. Most of the food was super tasty! We had Shrimp al ajo (garlic sauce) which had a tomatoey sauce that was great to dip bread in. We also had the Patatas Bravas, Tortilla, Asparagus with Jamon serrano, Calamari with black rice, and Beef Skewers. The slice of tortilla was kind of small, and loose, as opposed to firm. It did come with some salad which was nice. The calamari was the disappointing item, small rings with no flavor and too salty rice. Everything else was super delicious!!

Fantastic tapas. Prices were reasonable for how delicious everything was. Forgot to take pictures of the food because it all tasted so good.
Fantastic white and red sangrias. Tasted more like tinto de verano than a typical slushy sangria.

5 star food with 1 star service. The food was exceptional and I tried so many items on the menu. But the waitress was completely inattentive. I went early and it wasn’t open yet so I came back. I was initially alone, 2 friends joined me. I started with a bottle of wine, ended with draft beers and tasted about 8 or 9 plates. I had to get up multiple times to get the waitress or ask for something and that is ridiculous for the only table in the restaurant. I enjoyed the atmosphere and food… but wouldn’t return because of service. With tip I spent over $200, I guess that wasn’t enough.

Small plates were delicious. Selection is big. Try the baked cheese. A dish you’ll never forget.
