I ordered from here on uber eats. I ordered two ramens and only received one. The one I received was supposed to be a size large. We got a tiny container of the toppings with only one small piece of pork. There wasn’t a lot of broth and some of the broth spilled out. So we were left with a tiny bowl of soup with mostly noodles. Definitely not worth over $20 that I paid.

Not a ramen connoisseur or anything but I’ve been coming to Santouka for more than 15 years since its Sawtelle location. It used to be the benchmark for solid ramen, providing the best taste to price ratio IHMO.

Came back here after work to grab a quick bowl (got too hungry while shopping). I decided to go simple (shio), because I felt like a purist today and wanted enjoy 1:1 with the broth.

To my mistake/disappointment, I couldn’t help but notice the hollowness of the broth lacking substance. The broth was a cloud of artificial umami/unpleasant sweetness from whatever it is that isn’t pork/any organic ingredients.

My mouth is itching for water to cleanse and I’m angry at myself for finishing it because I was starving. I’m not a “no msg” guy hating here, I think it amplifies flavor when there’s base flavor to multiply with.

Hands down, best ramen in town. They serve with plastic spoons and contains (from the combo set). Highly recommend the place, but I would bring my own eating utensils next time.

It’s a small ramen noodles place inside the Japanese supermarket.

Very busy during the weekend and lunchtime but not much of other time!

Self service kind please and not cheap as for food court prices.

The ramen is just about average in quality and volume. Not bad but not great either. No need for a special trip but if you are near by, may not be a bad choice.

Absolutely incredible ramen. The two of us got a combo meal to share and it was the perfect amount of food. The broth was superb, as were the noodles. The rice side dish was great too. But the star was for sure the ramen.

Expect a bit of a line, but it’s worth the wait!

pretty decent ramen inside of mitsuwa. we got the medium and it was actually a lot of food. broth was rich and noodles were good but i wish that there were a few more types of toppings on the ramen because it was quite meat heavy with large slabs of pork

It’s very good. Deep flavor, broth comes out piping hot; very creamy texture. Thick, heavy bowls that retain the heat as well.

The spicy miso broth was better than the special pork, but both were excellent.

As always, be prepared to wait. We came at 5pm when it was pretty slow and it was still about a 20 minute wait.

Santouka is my fav no-frill ramen. Love the food court experience.

This place has good basic ramen but until recently they were using all disposable bowls/containers/utensils long past the excuse given by COVID, even for the very hot ramen. Hot food and plastics don’t mix well. I see they just started serving the soup in a real bowl again, but everything else (rice bowls, sides, fixings, etc) is still in disposables.
