It’s such a rare treat to find a food experience on a whim during a standard Monday grocery run, but wow if Hokkaido didn’t completely blow us away.
At the recommendation of many other reviews, we started with the Pork Buns. Incredible. The buns were soft, spongy and a little sweet, the pork was tender and fatty. Excellent flavor.
My wife had the Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen and I had the Tantanmen. Mine was spicy and complex. The eggs were unbelievable. I added the provided spicy paste to make it truly come alive. Hers, on the other hand, the Garlic Tonkotsu… even after 2 years living in South Japan I have to confess it’s in the top 3 bowls of ramen I’ve ever eaten. The pork itself was maybe the best piece of tonkotsu pork I’ve ever eaten. You don’t mess with perfection and, make no mistake, this is perfection.
Lastly we had plenty of sushi. I had many fresh fish choices in mine and it was absolutely fresh. They weave rolls together with flavors that compliment one another in a great way. It’s not going to be the reason you come here, but snacking on the delicious sushi options is a great reason to extend your stay by a few bites.
Service was also quite good. Server was timely and attentive and (I believe) the owner was the one who stopped to clean up our empty dishes. I gushed to her about the food and she was overjoyed to hear it.
We will absolutely become regulars here and I suggest everyone do the same. 10/10. Can’t wait to come back.

This was our first time dining at Hokkaido Ramen and sushi restaurant. First I’d like to say the decor in the restaurant is very welcoming and beautiful. We were greeted immediately by two employees, and were seated right away. Everyone was very professional and friendly. The menu is itself really nice it’s printed on a hard plastic it felt like and it seemed elevated. Even the dishes were pretty. Our meal came quickly and was fantastic, and we ordered ginger tea as well that we really enjoyed. We ordered the Dancing Eel, Golden California, and Spicy yellowtail sushi rolls. All of them were absolutely beautiful and the taste was phenomenal. We ordered a Slice of Cheesecake for dessert with strawberry drizzle. And it finished off a perfect meal. I definitely recommend you try this new restaurant in bowling green. It does not disappoint.

Restaurant was clean and servers were smiling and attentive. Ordered spicy Ramen with the ask of regular, hot, and like very hot. I ordered hot and my nose was running for sure. Everything was very flavorful and just the right size to finish everything in one sitting. I will be back to try some sushi but know that the Ramen was delicious.

The absolute best sushi! It was our first time trying Ramen and we were very pleased. Great food! Great service! The waitress even brought a dessert out to help celebrate our anniversary.

I saw that this place had good reviews, so we gave it a shot. Wow!! The food is amazing!! It’s reasonably priced, as well. We started off with Red Snapper Sushi and the Pork Buns. The fish was perfectly cut and generous without having too much rice under it. The pork buns were incredible. The sweetness on the pork marinade perfectly balanced by salty and the crispness of the veggies was delightful. So good I forgot to get a pic. I got the Spicy Ramen at the highest spice level. The broth was so flavorful, noodles perfectly cooked, marinated egg with perfect jelly center, and the spice level was exactly what I wanted as someone who LOVES spicy food. The portions are extremely generous. You will not leave hungry. My husband got the Beef Curry Rice. The plate was practically overflowing. He thoroughly enjoyed it. I tried a bite. Lovely curry with tons of meat and veggies. He was also very full and satiated. We each got a hot tea. He got the black. I got the jasmine green. Both are perfect. That black tea is so smooth with a natural sweetness and the jasmine has a strong jasmine flavor and scent. I loved that the tea pots and cups matched and also coordinated with the type of tea. We will definitely drive the hour to come here, again.

Ramen was so good. It hard to find a good ramen spot and this one is it! We also tried some sushi and it was also pretty good. Definitely recommend the Tantanmen ramen if you love spicy.
