Had an amazing time grabbing food here. We ordered the gyoza, eel & avocado roll, Philadelphia roll, a deep fried roll, and their garlic tonkotsu ramen. Amazing flavor and couldn’t wait to enjoy more of their food. Amazing prices and the atmosphere was perfect. I am so shocked this place wasn’t packed!

This has to be the BEST Japanese food I’ve had in the USA so far. I ordered the Chicken Karaage appetizer first. Deliciously tender chicken bites in a very unique batter fried up to golden perfection. The overall taste was very interesting, not at all floury but…sort of sweet and possibly floral. It was outstanding. And don’t get me started on the spicy mayo it came with. Absolutely fantastic.
For my entree I ordered the beef curry plate which was pieced of beef in a curry sauce wifh carrots, potatoes and onions served with a healthy portion of white rice. Again, outstanding. The absolute perfect meal after a rough day, or if you’re cold or not feeling well.
Interior is very cozy and japanese-esque with the small and intimate seating arrangements. Lovely moody music playing throughout. I didn’t catch my server’s name but he was one of the quickest and most attentive I’ve had in a while. Well done all around to this place! If only I lived in the area I’d be eating there a few times a week.

Finding good ramen spot in Kentucky is tough…really tough. There’s really only a few I can think of that are truly impressive, and Hokkaido is one of those places!
Large menu (plenty of options for folks that don’t eat ramen), friendly staff, and a Thai tea bubble tea that blew me away.
We’ll be coming to Richmond specifically for many more meals here in the future

Ramen was good and flavorful. I liked how they smeared the hot paste on the side of the tantanmen bowl so you can choose how spicy you wanted to make it. Got an order of pork buns to share. It was okay, a little dry and missing hoisin sauce or had very little of it. Daughter got gyoza and she enjoyed it. Staff was pleasant and friendly. Service was quick and efficient. Will visit again unless I’m in NY or Philly to get my ramen fix.

I frequent Hokkaido. The food is so good and so authentic. The ramen Is the star of the show for me but the entire menu is so delicious. The bang bang shrimp, the gyoza, the sushi, rice bowls, poke bowls etc. Whenever I’m missing Japan I go here and this cooler rainy day we just had today was perfect for one of my favorite bowls the Tonkatsu Garlic bowl. Please go support Hokkaido Ramen House. They’re the real deal.

We have been to Hokkaido many times and every time the food and service is outstanding. Hokkaido offers a nice ambiance that doesn’t feel like a fast food restaurant while offering amazing food at a reasonable price. The amount of food for the entrees is enough to share. We LOVE the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer! There are so many options for sushi, poke bowls, rice bowls and ramen bowls. My personal favorite is the Pork Chashu Don Rice bowl (make sure you stir from the bottom – the mild sauce is delicious!). The staff is welcoming. Highly recommend this gem in Richmond.

We stopped here for food on a road trip with the kids. They don’t have highchairs, but we carry a travel one that attaches to the seat well. They also have tables with a booth on one side. The food was amazing, and the staff was very friendly. We would love to go here again.

I can’t say enough how fantastic this place is. I am driving over an hour to get there and it is well worth it. The service was amazing, the inside was super clean and nice, the seating extremely comfortable and the food absolutely delicious. Some of the best sushi I have ever ate and the noodles were perfect. Reasonably priced and you will full and satisfied. Loved it!!

I like poke bowls, but I must say I’d not yet had one with corn. Googling I find it is considered a modern or “fusion” ingredient rather than a staple of traditional poke. It wasn’t bad, just . . . well, Kentucky I guess. The rest of the meal was delivered quickly, tasted great, and server was polite and efficient. Perfect as we had 550 more miles to go.
