Very nice little cafe with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. They have an interesting menu with several things I wanted to try. I ordered the East Meets West bowl, which was really delicious. The baked goods in the front case looked amazing but we didn’t have anything today. Really looking forward to visiting again soon!

Love the food and the personnel. The women working behind the counters were very pleasant and nice to talk to!

The 4 scrambled eggs on toast, sweet potato, kids waffle, pasta dish on lunch menu and brownie were all delicious!

The hot drink was not that sweet, it needed sugar.

Would love to return here in the future.

Very cute nice spot! Loved the exterior of the place. Inside very cute and cozy. Girl working was very nice. Extremely nice coffee and loved the cute latte art. Tartes were tasty and we loved the caramel cake. Will definitely come back and try the cheesecake!!

Nice restaurant. I had the Turkey Sandwich with sprouts. It was tasty. Large portion, I had leftovers. Relaxed. We visited at 2 pm on Saturday.

Delicious food, simply designed atmosphere. The banana bread loaded was excellent. Oatmeal very nice but the only mention of vegan was a white chocolate on top of the oatmeal and it was missing (my vegan friend of course was looking forward to it). Apparently they were out and never mentioned it. Later they did offer jam as a substitute and it was quite good. Pastries are not run of the mill. I’m glad they had some healthier choices.

I believe the owner of the café is a French retired Michelin-starred chef. The bakery’s ambiance is very inviting, though seatings may be limited during brunch hours on the weekends. The baked goods are reasonably priced, especially given its high quality taste. Both savory & sweet pastries are very well done! I really wish I would have gotten a slice of the basqued cheesecake . Their coffees are also so yummy, not too sweet at all, so the taste is very light and elegant! I’d definitely recommend stopping by for a sweet treat & a drink if you pass from VA beach to Williamsburg or something. They also opened a location nearby Colonial Williamsburg!

Very busy Saturday morning but service and food was delicious! My hot chocolate was heavenly and the Lamb Sandy was spectacular (just that the potatoes were a little tough?!?) My wife’s omelet was enjoyed by both of us… ! The pastry case was a little light, but the one’s left looked tasty. Will return to check ✔️ out the pastries and coffee ☕️…..
Stay tuned!

I had a very no nice lunch / brunch here. I ordered the omelet. It was not a French style omelet but more like an Italian frittata. It had great flavor and was garnished nicely with micro greens and sour cream drizzle. Thankfully, they mixed up my drink order which was expression over ice. Instead they brought a small plate with two shot glasses. I’m one was the espresso and in the other was sparkling water to cleanse the palate after sips. It was wonderful. The barista (Jasmine) was very helpful and informed me the expression was made from medium today beans from Columbia. The expression was flavorful and perfectly dialed in. It wasn’t bitter and wasn’t sour, perfect, almost slightly sweet. A wonderful experience.

Now THAT’S a cappuccino! Definitely the best cafe within a 20 mile radius, hohl does everything right. While they can provide a solid american to-go experience, their traditional milk drinks in house are perfection.

But their prowess does not stop at drinks – their “Breaky Sandy” is on par with a burger I would expect to find at a fine dining establishment (and at a great price point)! Their croissants and croissant-adjacent pastries are similar to those found in tiny corner markets in Paris, no joke.

I cannot recommend hohl enough to anyone looking for a unique, yet traditional, cafe and breakfast experience.

I would drive the miles between my home in Fredericksburg and this cafe in Williamsburg every single day if I could afford to! Absolutely perfect in every way – delicious homemade food, perfectly crafted lattes, sincere and genuine atmosphere. Lovely! Brought home their muesli and coffee – hoping to hold me over till my next in-person visit! My compliments to the chef and baristas!
