My brother and I stopped in for a late lunch when we were in town, hopping around the museums and the park. The food was good. The atmosphere was great. And on a hot summer day the staff kept the drinks coming. If you’re looking for a spot near Forest Park, stop in and give them a try!

Had their version of the French Dip, with a real tasty au jui sauce. Also had the side dish of Mustard Potato salad. They let me have a sample of their Pit Beans. ( their version of baked beans). The whole meal was really good and the service was fine. Some of the dining table(s) are very small and the overall menu list doesn’t have a great variety and although the meals might seem pricey The atmosphere, the food quality, and the service seem to make my first experience worthwhile. Almost forgot to mention the outdoor patio area. Probably capable of seating over 60+ customers comfortably.

We decided to try this spot and found it hidden in Dogtown. Its front entrance is clear, but not overly noticeable. Inside, we found amazing service and the best brisket I’ve had in my life.
The bartender was also waiting tables and was super friendly and attentive. She quickly provided us with our drinks and took our order. The bar had a lot of options and the food menu had a range of options from sandwiches to plates.
My wife ordered a pulled pork sandwich and she loved it. I ordered the brisket plate with pit beans. The beans were okay, not amazing, but the brisket was phenomenal. I ordered brisket most of the time when at BBQ and have never had it so good. It was tender, you could taste the smoke, and the sweet bbq sauce went perfectly with it.

The waitress was very nice. We ordered food to go. The brisket was flavorless without sauce. I don’t normally eat brisket with sauce. The baked beans were very good. Spicy and full of different types of meat. The Mac and cheese wasn’t my favorite.

Phenomenal BBQ! Brisket was perfect, the St. Louis ribs were falling off the bone, mac and cheese side was great, as was the mustard potato salad. Our server, Madison, was very friendly and helpful! Highly recommend!!

Georgia the bartender/server was fantastics. The prices are typical. The brisket ribs &ac & cheese were very good. The lighting inside was a lil dark but ok. The outside sesting are was way bigher than inside. Parking was a lil funky. Would def go again.

We had the half rack of ribs and the pit beans….the beans weren’t bad, a lil on the sweet side. The ribs were fairly decent with the sauce. I ordered a margarita with sugar and received one with salt. I’m pretty sure they just pour it in another glass with sugar on the rim because it still had the salty taste….overall not a bad experience.

The food was excellent!! I stopped in Clayton/St Louis on a roadtrip to Kansas City, I’m glad I did! This friendly neighborhood spot has tremendous food, a good vibe, and a fun local atmosphere.
