Our party of four had dinner here last night. The brisket was outstanding along with the excellent sides. I haven’t had mac and cheese that good since visiting the southern U.S. Prices were reasonable and the owner was very attentive. Lots of seating. The brisket had just the right amount of smoky flavor. Best BBQ we’ve had in ages. Black Bear soda on tap and Potosi bottled beer. We will be back. A great new Wisconsin BBQ tradition for us.

This place is an underrated gem! Everything I’ve ever had here is savory, tender, flavorful amazingness. The guy who helped us (who I assume owns the joint) was friendly and helpful. Probably the very best BBQ I’ve ever had, and the place is always empty! Call your mom, tell your friends and get this place the love it deserves. It’s the real deal.

Good Q. Mike was great. Great to talk to and gave his personal touch. It’s nice to talk to an owner. The brisket and ribs are great. Served dry so you can add all the sauce you want. The sides were great. We will be going back!

We found this place by accident and we are glad we did… we didn’t even know this town existed.
Upon walking in, we were greeted by the owner, who was incredibly friendly! I was holding one sleeping child that didn’t make the drive over and another that just woke up. Him being a dad as well, he knew what we were up against with tired kids. He quickly cleared a table for us and took our order, making small talk with my 7 year old the whole time.
I ordered the brisket and my wife ordered the half-rack of ribs. We wanted to play it safe and go with mac and cheese for the kids, but it was later in the day on a holiday weekend, so they were out. The owner was very apologetic, but we’re the ones that show up late on a holiday weekend, so we decided to try the chicken sliders.
We were brought two types of BBQ sauce (one sweet and one spicy). The owner kept trying to accommodate the fact that I was holding a sleeping child in one arm while eating, even offering to get me blanket to lie her down on… talk about customer service!
The brisket was good, not the best I’ve had, but it was good. I tried a portion of the ribs and they had a nice smokey taste to them. Their BBQ sauces were amazing as well. For sides, I had french fries and their homemade broccoli and cauliflower salad, which was excellent, though I didn’t get to eat too much of it as it seems the rest of my family really enjoyed it as well.
My 7 year old loved her slider.. eating it very quickly. Just as we were about to leave, my 3 year old woke up and decided to eat as well. She also polished off the slider. Both girls loved the sweet BBQ sauce. Now, I mention this because I swear my kids are the pickiest eaters. They, however, loved their dinner. They usually don’t eat BBQ sauce, so we actually bought some to take home.
This is a great restaurant in a cool town with amazing customer service. We’ll be sure to go back again!

We never tasted the food. The guy didn’t welcome us. He suggested not to get one side in a unfriendly way because of cost difference, and shamed Miller for being a multinational ownership. All I asked for was a Miller High Life. I can understand his feeling but I didn’t need to hear his opinion. People make a living in Milwaukee relying on that multinational corporation. We came in as a family, ready to order and spend 60+ dollars. We were surprised by the attitude that didn’t reflect the hard to believe ratings here. We left with him laughing. It was empty there and every other place had people coming and going. I get it now.

The best BBQ I’ve found in SE Wisco so far! The brisket is amazing with the “white sauce” shhh.. it’s a secret lol. Beans are meaty and not too sweet. Looking forward to trying every thing on the menu, haven’t been disappointed yet.

Pulled chicken sandwich topped with sweet sauce, a side of to-die-for baked beans and hand-cut fries is my favorite combo. Homemade German potato salad, also excellent. Black cherry soda or a craft beer, a must. I never leave hungry.

If you like dry rub BBQ, this place is for you. Unfortunately from my perspective, BBQ isn’t BBQ unless it’s slathered in BBQ sauce. Hoggin’ It offers sauce on the side for an extra charge, but it was just okay.
