On a Saturday late morning when to a local diner and it was busy and crowed and had to wait 15 minutes for a table for two. Waiter told me that on the weekends is always busy like this. So it seems to be a very popular location. Large selection of your standard diner fare, but would have liked to have seen more vegetarian options outside of standard salads. As to the food we had, my pancakes were tasty and well made and these are usually hard to mess up. My wife’s omelette was overly stuffed with too much avocado and peppers. The ratio to the egg was not pleasing to the pallet. The home fries/potatoes were over cooked to her liking. The coffee was your standard diner coffee and nothing to be overly happy about. The service was fast and attentive which was a plus. We’ll continue on our search.

I recently took my nephew out to dinner to treat him to a steak and chose Hogan’s because I remembered it as a place known for good food and generous portions. Since I was the one who suggested going there, it was embarrassing for me when the food turned out the way it did.
The baked potato looked like it had been sitting around for hours. It was small, not hot, and nothing like the large baked potatoes Hogan’s used to serve. The New York strip steak itself may have been decent, but it was completely drowned in some kind of sauce that overpowered the steak. It was also smothered in fried onions. Between the sauce and the onions, the flavor of the steak was completely lost and I could barely eat it.
My nephew even asked if I wanted to order something else because he could see I wasn’t enjoying my meal. I declined, but I was very disappointed. The steaks were supposed to be 14 ounces, yet they certainly did not look like it. Normally I would have stayed for coffee and dessert, but after the meal we were served, I was honestly afraid to see what that would look or taste like.
When I went to pay, the cashier somehow mentioned that she was Hogan. I told her that could not be correct because I had been coming to Hogan’s since the 1970s, when I would go there after school, and she clearly was not Hogan. She then admitted that she had just purchased the restaurant a few months ago.
That explained a lot. The Hogan’s I knew is clearly gone. The food quality is not what it used to be. I’m not sure if the menu has changed, but the food and the way it was prepared are nothing like the Hogan’s I remember from years ago. It was a very disappointing experience.
I felt it was important to let you know because Hogan’s used to have a very good reputation, and I hope you will take this feedback seriously. Food was not HOT!

We were attending the funeral of a dear friend and were looking for a place to eat afterwards. We decended on Hogans with no warning and there was about 15 of us.

Hogan’s staff were simply wonderful. They sorted out the seating for us and made sure we were comfortable. No one had a bad attitude or resented us just showing up. The food was excellent and the staff were very professional and attentive to our needs.

Thank you Hogan’s staff and management for making a difficult day more bearable. God Bless you all!

There’s nothing worse than seeing a local business breaking the law at their customer’s expense.

Any additional credit card surcharge, in the state of NY, is 100% illegal. (NYS BUSINESS LAW 518)

Businesses are required to post the highest price before check out.
The customer should not be responsible for doing the math.

Bait & switch pricing is the black & white.

When you see something wrong, don’t stand by, especially when it’s at the expense of your neighbors.

I used to come here with my grandfather 25 years ago when the Hogan family owned it and it was excellent back then. Revisiting now was such a pleasure under the new owners as well. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, the coffee was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. Very good breakfast experience, looking forward to coming back for lunch or dinner! The place was also noticeably SPOTLESS, so kudos for keeping the establishment so clean!

Updates review – this has become one of my favorite diners. Food is always consistently good, service is always excellent, and prices are always reasonable. Also, best California Burger ever, and they have an amazing tartufo.

Horrible service people just stare at you like your a wall, people call ahead for the benefit of not having to wait and then to find out my order was never placed. Please be more professional with your customers

The only thing I regret about this place is that I didn’t go in sooner. My mom and I were here for lunch on a weekend, The service was nothing sort of excellent. Is super attentive super friendly, Very accommodating to requests. The food was so good and fresh .. And usually diners are super loud. This place was not loud at all but yet pretty full. great place! will be back!

Hogan’s is great! Their breakfast specials are filling, delicious, and more than enough food. I snapped these photos after we started eating since we were hungry!

The two orders were The Hogan (avocado toast) and Eggs & Hashbrown platter.
