Hog Pit BBQ operates out of a food stall inside the Bus Barn food hall with other food and beverage establishments. The Bus Barn overlooks City Center Park and playground (with a splashpad). Stopped in for dinner. I ordered Pastor Tony’s brisket grilled cheese sliders w/ side of coleslaw and the Mac & Cheese fritters. Delicious! Hog Pit BBQ is legit. You can’t go wrong with any of the four sauces they make, either.. Hog Pit is Colonel Approved!!!

I really hate to write this review as this used to be one of my favorite restaurants. It seems like they took a turn for the worse at the beginning of summer. My food is either burnt or in smaller quantities than expected. I hate that they changed their to go boxes as well. I really liked coming here to eat because I would usually snack as my kids played at the park. But this burnt piece of chicken was the last straw that broke the camels back. Why would you hand this disgusting piece of chicken breast over and over again to your customers? I see someone else experienced the same burnt issue with their chicken. What is going on at this establishment? On a semi positive note the staff member did offer to make me some more chicken, but why should I have to complain?

Im not one to leave reviews but the food here was not very good at all. Especially for the price. I got ribs and pulled pork with cole slaw and Mac and cheese. The only good item was the pulled pork. The ribs were burnt and didnt taste good. The Mac and cheese had 0 flavor with just some melted cheese on top. The coleslaw also had no flavor and was dry. For 27 dollars for just 1 plate it was no where near worth the price.

I’m not sure what is going on but lately the brisket has been tough and I just had the most over salted catfish in my life!! The piece of fish in the box I ate was like sucking a salt rock. I took a small piece and gave it to my son and then took a bigger piece and split it with my two sons. It was SUPER salty!! Like I couldn’t even stand to eat it. Took it back and asked for a refund they wanted to give me a giftcard but I only come here a few times a year so I declined.
It took 15 mins for them to say they voided the order and it’ll go back on my card. Initially the chef declined the refund because he tasted a piece and declared it not salty. My son came in and also stated the fish was way too salty to eat and that’s when I got a voided slip and they said the money would refund to my account. I have all the feels about this when I first came the food was AWESOME but the last few times have been subpar.

I stood here and watched the employee stir a pot, reach in with her bare hand (no gloves), and then lick her fingers to taste it. I should have said something.

My $12+ salad didn’t even have the bacon on it that they advertised. The ranch wasn’t even half full. Employees complained to coworker when I asked for more.

The brisket was mainly fat, the food portions and delivery were poor, and the cleanliness was very questionable. I was hopeful, but very disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend.

Small place throwing it down! The pulled chicken was my favorite, but everything I had (brisket, mac [it was pennoni pasta], wings, cornbread, sauces) was top-notch. Don’t go to some chain restaurant. This is the real deal here. Field lunch leftovers are never this good.

The quality of food and service was below standard. The chicken nachos were cold, chips were stale; almost tasted like they warmed them up in the microwave. The meat was skimpy which wouldn’t have mattered because it lacked flavor. My son’s tenders tasted like they were fried in old grease. Service was subpar, only friendly when approached. However, once I ordered my food, both of them went on a “break” lol smh. Only positive is they are outside of the city center splash pad so it is convenient. Regardless, I will not be returning.

Used them to cater our wedding welcome party at Line Creek Brewing with heavy appetizers. They were so easy to work with! They did all the set up for us while we were at rehearsal dinner. They will work with you on what you want vs a set menu. Great option if you are hosting an event at the brewery!

Awful. I have no other way to describe it. The Mac and Cheese was something. It wasn’t Mac and Cheese by any stretch of the imagination. It was like some Soviet Union Soup Kitchen Slop. The pulled pork had ZERO flavor and was full of fat, on top of it being such a small portion. I’m glad this isn’t a place I normally go and I can rest easy knowing I’ll never have to experience this again. You won’t even find a friendly smiling face with the staff. I’ve seen happier people at funerals. The venue it’s located in is cool though.

Loved the light and crispy hushpuppies and the fried catfish was great. Enjoyed the banana pepper tartar sauce, ordered additional sauces of Alabama and hot sauce, glad I did. Definitely recommend the greens and Cuban sandwich as well. Great food, service, beer, and atmosphere, will certainly back.
