If you haven’t been to Hog Cabin Bar-B-Que, it is absolutely worth the drive! The food here is nothing short of extraordinary every bite is packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Their BBQ ribs are tender, smoky, and fall-off-the-bone delicious, while the French onion soup is rich, cheesy, and easily one of the best I’ve ever had.

The portions are generous, the presentation is inviting, and the quality is unmatched. On top of that, the owner is incredibly friendly and down-to-earth, which makes the whole experience even more welcoming.

If you’re looking for food that goes beyond amazing let’s call it unforgettable this is the place. Hog Cabin Bar-B-Que has definitely earned a spot as a must-visit destination for anyone who loves great food and warm hospitality.

I had the pleasure of visiting Hog Cabin BBQ under its new ownership, and I couldn’t be more impressed! The restaurant is spotless, the servers are friendly and attentive, and the prices are extremely reasonable, especially considering the generous portions.

I went for brunch and was blown away. The food was delicious, the portions were large, and the prices were more than fair. A special shout-out to their *Brisket & Gravy* — it’s absolutely one of a kind and unbelievably good!

If you’re looking for an incredible meal, fantastic service, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, Hog Cabin BBQis the place to go. I highly recommend it!

It was a Friday night, snowing and the roads were iffy at best. But I already had plans to take my girl to Hog Cabin BBQ, it was absolutely worth the drive. Ordered a large pretzel as an appetizer and it came with Mac n cheese, it wasn’t my favorite, as I thought it lacked flavor and creaminess, but the pretzel was perfect. For the main course my girl ordered the Hog Cabin burger, which came with a large beef paddy (made in house), two thick slices of brisket, cheddar cheese and onion tanglers, with curly fries as the side and homemade barbecue sauce (sweet or spicy). She ordered her beef be cooked medium rare, and it was cooked exactly to order. As for my order, I ordered the Old West burger, which came with a large beef patty, ordered medium well (again cooked exactly to order), smokehouse bacon, cheddar cheese, and a “Big Ol Onion Ring”, curly fries on the side, and the choice of barbecue sauce. The burger was so good I didn’t want to put it down after the first bite, but like many things in life. You must savor the finer things, because they come and go as quick as the wind. Though the food was excellent, the service was good but I thought lacked a few things. There are no extra napkins at the tables except for the one that comes with the silverware, it is a BBQ joint after all. While I’m not exactly a fine diner, it’s hard not to get messy with anything BBQ. The drinks were slow to get to the table even though it wasn’t terribly busy, but to be fair, it was also our waitress who had to make our drinks. For those few things, it was worth it to eat at a place with a pleasant atmosphere and delicious food, I will certainly be bringing family and friends to also enjoy some delicious food, hats off to the cook and the wait staff!

A Must-Try Spot in Greenwood—Especially If You Haven’t Been in a While

I grew up in Clark County and have spent decades enjoying the local foods and restaurants in the area. We’re fortunate to have several great restaurants and bar-and-grills in this area, many of which I’ve supported and loved for years. That said—my recent visit to Hog Cabin Bar-B-Que completely blew me away. The smoked prime rib was phenomenal, with just the right touch of smoke without overpowering the cut. The brisket chili was rich and flavorful, and every side—from the baked mac and cheese to the BBQ beans and coleslaw—was homemade and seriously delicious.

Everything on the menu is made from scratch, and you can tell. Even their barbecue sauces (sweet and savory) are house-made. The savory sauce isn’t spicy despite the label—it’s just packed with depth and flavor. And the attention to detail in the way they smoke and season each meat—using different rubs for pork, beef, and chicken—is something you don’t often see around here.

When Hog Cabin first opened, I heard mixed reviews from folks I know in the area, and I totally understand where that hesitation came from. But they’ve clearly found their stride now. The food, the service, the whole experience—it’s on a new level. If you haven’t been back in a while, I truly recommend giving it another try.

It’s also just good to see this location—one with so much history—being thoughtfully cared for by people who truly take pride in the food they serve. Central Wisconsin’s food scene has a lot to offer, and Hog Cabin is now absolutely part of that conversation.

Not from the area and pulled in to eat a quick dinner. They had fish fry going on and it was delicious. Our waitress was polite, kind and very accommodating. Suggests anyone to stop in and try the food.

Being able to eat local meat that was smoked in house is worth every penny. The french onion soup is delicious, brisket is tender, and service is great! Try both BBQ sauces (they are good mixed together). They serve wines from the local winery as well. You can sit and have a drink or eat at the beautiful natural wood bar or eat in the large main dining room. My only two minor criticisms are that the dinner roll was a bit dry and it is incredibly hard to tell if they are open. A neon sign or A-frame sign by the road would help as well as hours posted on the door as I wasn’t sure what the hours were. Other than that, the mountain of delicious choices for sides, incredibly tender smoky meats, and the pleasant customer service will keep me coming back.

Food was excellence, service was wonderful. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Food came out hot and very flavorful and delicious. Our group tried the fish, brisket, pulled pork and ribs. I would highly recommend this place and will definatly return and try more items off the menu.
