I stopped by for lunch around 12:11 PM, and my food was ready around 12:30 PM. It wasn’t very busy at the time, so the wait felt a little longer than expected but still reasonable.
I ordered the 3-meat dinner. When I went to pick up my food at the counter, I was told they were out of peach cobbler. After sitting down and checking my plate, I also realized they were out of beef ribs. They substituted extra sliced brisket instead.
The brisket actually had good flavor and wasn’t bad at all. The potato salad was good and probably my favorite side. However, the green beans were a bit too peppery for my taste.
Overall, the food was decent, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time that they were out of certain items before ordering. With better communication about menu availability, the experience would have been smoother.

The moment you step out of your car you can smell the food. I ordered the sliced brisket and jalapeño sausage with a side of double taters. Let me tell you it was smokey and savory that it nearly had me in tears with how flavorful it was. I will definitely be coming and bringing other friends here when they ask whats a good place for BBQ.

Great food and service. First time trying out the BBQ from this place and I’ve gotta admit… we’re hooked! The brisket was tender, the sausage juicy, and the baked potato salad was on point. The bread used for the sandwiches is house made so you gotta know it’s good. As far as the cobbler… yummy yummy yummy! The cobbler too is house made so it was delicious! Very friendly staff! We will DEFINITELY be eating here every time we visit Corpus!

I’d wanted to try this BBQ place for a while, but it was disappointing. I went soon after opening, and it was very quiet – but it still took about 10 minutes for my plate to come out from the back (not my favorite bbq setup). I went and checked 5 minutes into the wait, in case I’d missed my name being called, but was given a curt and abrupt “no!” by a member of the serving staff. I think activity was dominated by “to go” boxes and cups being filled. A couple of minutes later, as I was refilling my drink, the serving staff and the kitchen staff had some sort of water fight, and were cussing pretty loudly, which was a surprise. Hopefully no kids heard it. When I did get my plate, the brisket and pulled pork were pretty flavorless, texture was ok. Beans were ok. Maybe the food, and the service, improve after 12pm?

Stopped in for authentic TX bbq. You order at the counter. Awesome baby back ribs and sliced brisket. Friendly staff. We are stopping back on our way to the airport. The peach cobbler was delish!

I should have taken a picture of my food because it was delicious. I had brisket (lean) with green beans and baked beans. The brisket was tender and flavorful… my coworker let me taste his potato salad and it was also pretty tasty… the lady who took my order was nice and I appreciated her kindness. Thanks for a great experience

The food was fantastic, abundant, and all at a great price. There was one mistake in the order, but the quality of the food completely made up for it. Included a nice amount of protein on the sandwich, 2 sides, and a scoop of delicious cobbler. Really is a barn, inside and out. This place turned into a highlight of our visit to South Padre Island and Corpus Christi.

Finally made it here and man was it worth it. The absolute best brisket in Corpus.
I had the holy Trinity of BBQ, brisket(off the point with bark and fat) spare ribs and jalapeno sausage with tater salad, green beans and peach cobbler.
Brisket-EXTREMELY tender, juicy, great bark and seasoned perfectly. Slices were almost 1/2 inch thick and just melted in my mouth.
Ribs- cooked more like competition style, not fall off bone but had to bite each piece off the bone, but not too tough. Just but and gently pulled off. Awesome flavor with the seasoning.
Jalapeno sausage- was more of a pepper sausage than jalapeno. Not greasy at all
Green beans- I was shocked at the great flavor of the beans. Visually looked boring but surprisingly had lots of flavor to them.
Tater salad (potato salad for those not from the south)- traditional mustard based tater salad. Mustard not too over powering and taste truly homemade.
Peach Cobbler- the only thing that would have made it better would have been some blue bell on top.
I wish I had come here sooner instead of waiting till the end of my stay but there were a bunch of other places I had to eat first. Was best way to finish my 6 month stay here in Corpus Christi.

The staff was friendly but I’m sorry to say the food was not what I expected ribs & brisket were not tender & didn’t have much to no flavor. The sausage was ok but nothing special about it . The only thing that was good was the potato salad the peach cobbler was not sweet & the crust was mushy seemed to be not cooked enough & i was charged for a drink I didn’t get. I was disappointed because I have lived in corpus most of my life and never eaten there & was excited to try it. Maybe it just a bad day for the place but I don’t think i will try it again.

They are o ly open from 11-3, so go early to make sure they have the dish you want! I highly recommend the beef ribs. Hubby was absolutely wild over them. Funky/fun atmosphere, amazing service and everything our party ordered was delicious!
